the LTR does not require investments but it requires 50,000 US dollars in insurance coverage, or 50k in the bank. It also requires you are receiving either 80k if working or 80k passive income. The amount of income can be reduced to 40k if you have a masters degree. In both cases it needs to be in a job not competition with Thai workers (digital/remote).
Also the company (if still working and not passive income( has to be public, above a certain size and generate a minimum revenue per year so small companies are almost a non starter
I just met with them in person regarding a LTR visa. Very good. They aren’t trying to talk you into an approach that is illegal just because it easier.
At the same time they also won’t take your assignment for a visa without verifying you would qualify
Question: can you get a retirement visa AND still work as a digital nomad?
I am over 55, have more than enough to meet the economic requirements but I am in discussions about working on contract 10-20 hrs a week.
I looked at the other visa option but I don’t have the history of the funds coming and/or I don’t plan to pull those funds (other than 800k baht ) for the visa into the country
Look in the mirror. If you look like you have no money you will be asked more questions
I don’t get much grief now but traveling to the Europe when I was younger I was grilled. I suspect it’s similar in Asia as I wasn’t asked for anything on most of my trips last year (
