Got a 5 year DTV Visa in NYC; planning on flying into Bangkok in Mar. A few questions:
1. What reporting requirements does the DTV have (once one comes into Thailand)?
2. Is there any benefit to having a Thai Bank Account? I have an old one from 3 years ago with 10,000 baht in it. Can't access from the US..but can likely access when in Thailand.
3. I want to get medical insurance primarily for catastrophic coverage. Any recommendations?
Hello, hope everyone is well. I’m considering retiring in Thailand at the end of the year I’m going to retiring Koh Chang I think I will get someone on the aisle to help me with the visas. I’ve been reading a lot what you say and it sounds quite simple but I may make a mistake. What I am interested in is how much is the medical insurance and which is the best place to get it? I’m 65 quite healthy go to the gym every day I did a bowel cancer five years ago well that’s all been sorted now. I have the funds to put in the bank for the Visa. That’s not a problem and a regular income I also have a dog and I’m thinking of bringing the dog Has anyone ever brought their dog it very expensive to do? I have researched a bit and it seems to be between two and £4000
I am visiting Thailand (Bangkok) in a week to do the essential groundwork for applying for the LTR Visa. I would need and like to secure solid medical insurance, with wide acceptance at most top Thailand hospitals.
Can you recommend trusted and established insurance brokers with offices in Bangkok who I can meet to help me compare suitable plans and providers (AXA, Cigna, Pacific Cross, Allianz Ayudhya,...) and more importantly assist in submitting/processing/expediting any claims in the future?
I am arriving with my family on a DTV. Two kids both under 8. Both my wife and I are in our 40s.
