You get an ed visa and he gets a dependent visa. Most schools will process the dependent visa for you for half to less than half the course fee including ed Visa. Has you contacted the school you were thinking about you should have been told this as it is pretty standard. If you were not, you might want to start contacting other schools

It is the TM30. You are required to submit it to immigration 24 hours after arriving or moving from one place to another. If you are in a complex or hotel they usually do it via the online processing.

(Should get a print screen just to save yourself the fine) or if it is your place or the landlord does not want to submit it you get the form and take it in yourself

It is a pain in the ass that if you are a tourist you can ignore but if you are a long time visitor it pays to take care of

I believe it is possible to just get the Business Visa without the work permit (since you probably will not have 4 staff)

BUT be aware your business as a company as opposed to your gf owning it 100% as a sole trader is going to have a shitload more paperwork, headaches and tax. If it is a small business that you are not expecting to personally earn

baht a month then don't form a company. Let the Thai run it as a sole proprietor and find a cheaper visa option

Apart from the wishful thinking of getting a Business Visa (possible but going to incur so much extra costs almost certainly not worth it). The biggest mistake westerners make is thinking they need a company and do it all official. They forget or never know that if the shit hits the fan, they only deposited 10% of the 2 million baht required. The rest is due when the company is closed or legal action is taken. Unless you are paying more than 2 million for the bar. It is not worth it.

So to answer your question, yes you probably will be able to get the Business Visa, but unless your paying close to or more than 500,000 for the bar you are buying. Getting the Business Visa will end up costing your business so much more than what you will save.

For small purchases to keep the gf or wife happy it is better to consider it a gift and salary (and sick buffalo) all in one and up front gesture (as opposed to a monthly allowance). And if things go south to consider it a gift. Probably nothing you do not already know after living here 10 years.

Sometimes they call your number sometimes they serve you in order of who lined up first

Yes I understand. I need to get the yellow book. Which apparently I can only do with a retirement or business visa according to the women at the desk. But I will Google this. Wasted enough of your time

Ok. So is there any point getting my name in It? Thought I could get a pink ID card which at the very least means no more waiting for a residency certificate when needed
Andrew ********
Then I guess I am changing the blue book I have to a yellow book. And since the staff ask me why I want to do it and I don't need to I suspect it requires a few hours work so it must be important

Thanks

. I was told I just needed a one year Visa to get my name on my condo. I went for the Ed to ensure I improved my Thai. Told I can not use the Ed Visa to put my name on the property and now (after getting it over the retirement) that only Business or Retirement Visas qualify to name on blue book. So wondering if switching from Ed to Retirement was also possible

Just as a side note if BKK is just a transit point and you are flying AirAsia, you are taken to a private immigration point with no line or hassles

I fly to Chiang Mai because their immigration is quicker, but recently the transit fly through service for leaving and entering has been fantastic

Not sure that will help. The school wants verification it has been done. I might have to go in to immigration
