the banks rules for a foreigner opening bank account. If you can prove than 3 months medical treatment in Thailand.

There is no law against Bank account on DTV or even tourist visa. Banks make their own rules. They just have to follow anti money laundering laws from government. Which means more paperwork hassle for the bank. And they especially don’t like to open for Americans due to extra paperwork.

I have a Thai partner that called for me to check the rules. And i got a Bank account in first branch I tried (not the same she called)

Its gotten more difficult lately though, but if under actual medical treatment it should still be possible

Anonymous participant 868 yea you are and you can. No laws says you can’t, and Bangkok Bank has a specific clause about medical treatment. Bank account reason: Pay hospital bills. For any visa over 3 months.

I understand. At least in Bangkok and Chiang Mai there’s allot. Bangkok even have a dedicated mall for it, with funny shop names 😅 (Fatty girl etc lol) Even at markets they have 2-5xl. But your probably right a about rural Thailand.

Pretty much everything available here. People say to bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent. Dont fall for that, both available and not more expensive the west.

Big clothing also easily available in the cities. Especially Bangkok.

Heck even vitamins and supplements around same price as Europe, despite people claiming its more expensive. I get visit from Europe and was going to ask them to bring until i actually started comparing prices,

After living here for a year ive found everything is available. And most things available to order on Lazada.

Only i can think of is local country food ingredients. But even allot of that is available (but at premium price) Heck I can even find Norwegian brown cheese.

huh? Uniqlo is in pretty much all malls and have big sizes. And Bangkok is full of big sizes.

Im a big guy, lived here for a year. Zero problems finding clothes.

It depends. I plan to do the extension. But I have maintained funds in thai bank, got all the medical papers from past, ongoing and future treatments.

Anonymous participant its a combination of the an Visa agent lending you money on paper and bribery. I wouldn’t do that.
