Anyone knows any details on how and more importantly where to apply for the new one year medical visa

The conditions etc are all clear, but I cannot find out where to actually apply. Send the thai embassy in Haag a main, but they were not very helpful. Just reffered me to a website that dosnt list the visa yet.

Do I need to apply directly with immigration?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The one-year medical visa in Thailand is currently unclear, as reports indicate it may still be a proposal and not officially implemented. Applicants interested in medical visas should check Thai embassies or consulates in their home countries, as immigration offices do not handle this visa. Some users suggest that applicants can obtain single-entry medical visas with a possibility for extensions or re-entry permits once in Thailand. Bumrungrad Hospital is mentioned as a facility that can assist with medical visa applications.

Bumrungrad Hospital sorted my medical visa. It wasn't time specific, it lasted as long as required to be able to fly after surgery which, in my case, was a little over three months. BTW, it is not free!'

I think it was more talk from the TAT. They often rant on about their proposals (like the 90-day visa exemption for European tourists). Unfortunately although the TAT has some great ideas, they never go anywhere because it's the MFA and the RTP that sets immigration policies! My understanding is you get a single entry medical visa and are stamped in for 90 days, so I would imagine you can get a re-entry permit in this stamp. You can also get in-country extensions

yes, just like the 45 days visa exempt entry being extended to the end of the year, right up to the day it was terminated as planned 555

Yeah, that was TAT who are responsible for a lot of the misinformation being spread around. They have bright sparks with great ideas and start flapping their gums before they check with Royal Thai Police to see if they agree!

It was only a proposal… it didn’t get signed off.

I've only seen one person report getting the medical visa and it wasn't for a year.

You cannot get it from immigration. You apply at a Thai embassy or consulate in your home country.

Brandon Thurkettle Thanks. This is a brand new 1 year multiple entry one. Supposedly launched this just last September. So 1 year validity, multiple entries and 90 days per entry.

Requires treatment plan and show up 800k baht finances.

Only thing i find on Evisa site is the 90 day one (single entry)

Lots of articles on it, but struggling to find more

if you look at this article it clearly states:

"The meeting has considered many key points of this visa. It is important to note that the policies discussed are still in the development phase and not yet enforceable."

if you are old enough and have the funds do a non-o based on retirement.

Some embassy allow a non-o 1 year multi entry visa based on retirement.

You would select non-o and instead iof single, check multiple.

I have seen this visa.
