Hi 🙂 while thinking very hard which route to go, I was surprised to see LTR may actually be an option for me.

I (and my employer) do meet all the below requirements. Does anyone here have some expertise LTR?

My question is simply this:

Would it still be an option if I say spend 5-6

Months out of the year in Thailand, rest in Europe? (Moving tax recidency is something doubt my company would be willing to accept)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The LTR (Long-Term Resident) visa might be suitable for individuals who plan to spend part of the year outside Thailand. According to one community member, once the visa is issued, there are no strict requirements for the holder to reside in Thailand for a certain amount of time, apart from the initial visit to receive the visa and re-entry permits.

There is no requirement you spend ANY time in thailand once you get the visa issued (other than be here to get the 10 year visa stamped in and get the 5 year entry stamp with multiple re-entry permit) 😮

there’s no tax payable on foreign earned income for 3 of the 4 LTR visas. Only the Highly Skilled Professionals are taxed as they are working for local companies.

are you working with a company that has 150 USD in the last three years?

Actually you will get a one year stamp in and a visa that lasts 5 years and can be renewed once without further payment.

he’ll get a 10 year visa with a 5 year stamp. Every time you re-enter you will be stamped in up until the end of the stay permit. Annual reporting is due if you stay longer than 1 year.

That sound very promising. Thanks allot Todd. Now lets see how bad my company wants to keep me 😆

remember IF you're going to apply for it do it thru the LTR website that the BOI runs NOT thru the eVisa website run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs thru the thai consulates

noted, tanks again! And the documentations required doesn’t seem too crazy as well. I see only one i may have to translate/notarize. Long process though.

I just went down their checklist and provided each item. They never asked me for another item after that except the data page of my passport 3 additional times? Still confused about that one but a phone call got things moving again and fixed it.
