Update from CNX today 9/5 noon.

There were 2 international flights that arrived together.

The lines were pretty short and I waited 5 minutes.

The IO looked at my DTV and stamped me in for 180 days. He asked no questions.

Customs was closed and the bags came out quickly.

I have not been keeping up to date with changes to Thailand entry... do you need any kind of electronic authorization right now, or can you enter with just a passport?

Has the ETA started in Thailand yet as I'm heading over in February and want to check before I fly back

I am arriving in June on the 60 day visa exempt, will the ETA be needed then, or is it still just being talked about. Thanks

Mae Sai-Tachilek border crossing: OK, we've had some recent reports coming out where members were able to cross over to Tachilek, either for the day or longer and it worked out fine.

However, the latest news is that the Burmese military junta has banned foreigners from flying to/from Tachilek and Lashio since May 8th.

Someone over on TripAdvisor claims that there are "rumors on a Thai Facebook group" that foreigners have been banned from crossing this border, just like they have been, since over a month at the Mae Sot-Myawaddy border.

No idea what Facebook group is being referred to, as it doesn't seem to be this one or Expats Thailand.

I was planning on crossing the Mae Sai-Tachilek border in around a month or two from now, but am leaning towards not going anymore due to this uncertainty.

Does anyone know whether things have changed since May 8th? I understand that one member went there very recently but things have a way of changing from one day to the next in Myanmar so what may have worked a week or 2 weeks ago, might not work anymore.

Does anyone know if the ferries are back on? I know they’ve been cancelled the past few days. I am travelling to Koh Tao from Koh Samui on Wednesday, will my travel be affected?
