DTV approved in Jakarta. Norwegian passport

3 days process, provided:

- Local application form downloaded from embassy website

- 6 weeks old bank statement (english)

- Printout of hospital appointment (neurosurgeon)

No additional documents asked for.

I personally suspect changes are coming very shortly with DTV….

Applied first in the Netherlands based on remote work, but got tired of the fuzz there. And zero point trying to argue with them.

They kept asking for “official document stating remote work abroad” with company kvk registration.

My work contact stated remote work, my employer just referred to my contract and remote work addendum. My self signed remote work declaration with kvk extract as a global manager was also not accepted in NL.

Didn’t have time for the fuzz and I knew my location would shift to Jakarta shortly after. Maybe I was unlucky but NL seemed difficult with DTV. And yes I lost the fee paid in NL.

Did you need an application appointment at Thai Embassy there or just walk in?

@He***
just walk in, no appointment. But I would recommend to download and pre-fill the application form (generic form on their website). But sign it there

Thank you.

Hello, why did you need to show an appointment booked at an hospital in Thailand? I never heard of this method until now and I’m in similar situation in regards to a possible upcoming appointment.

Thank you

one of of the options for DTV “soft power “ is a medical appointment.

Be aware my experience was specific to the Jakarta embassy. Each embassy/consulate seem to have their own “special” requirements

Did you withdraw the application in NL before applying in Jakarta ? Or was it rejected?

Nah, still “pending documentation” haha. NL was E-visa, Jakarta is “In Passport” old school visa.

Congrats! 3 days includes the day you dropped it off? For example, Tuesday drop off and Thursday accepted? Or...

Apllied monday, picked it up today Thursday.

On Monday she just quickly screened the documents, asked asked me to confirm the money was in EUR. Took 5 minutes and gave me a pickup receipt and told me it will be ready Thursday. What took longest was counting the 5.6 million IDR fee (cash only) 😅Picking up took 3 seconds haha.

09:30 a 12:00 is opening hours for visa applications.

13:30 to 15:00 for passport pickup.

Which package did you book at the hospital? Did you book it online or in person in Bangkok?

according to a interview I saw with a immigration representative, (on RTW4U).

Extension in country:

Same documentation as the visa requirements.

Entry/re-entry:

No documentation asked

But I wouldn’t rely on that, this is Thailand after all. And allot can depend on the mood of the immigration officer. That interview came off as a tourist ad, I’m fairly sure it will be different from immigration office to immigration office. And arrival location for entry
