I’m planning to apply for the DTV visa next month at the Thai Embassy in HO CHI MINH 🇻🇳. I understand that the embassy usually asks for a 6-month bank statement showing at least 500,000 THB.
I currently have that amount for the past three months, but I didn’t have that balance four to six months ago, the funds were transferred from my parents.
I’m from Singapore and have had a regular income of about USD 5k per month for the past 3 years.
The income goes through Wise Business → Wise Personal → local bank account, where I handle my living expenses and payments.
My only concern is that since the 500,000 THB is a fresh deposit (around 20,000 USD), it might raise questions when they review the six-month statement. I could explain that it’s a gift from my parents, but I’m not sure if that would be accepted.
Has anyone had experience with this situation when applying?
Would really appreciate your thoughts or advice. 🙏
Hi everyone! Just wanted to share my experience applying from Ho Chi Minh stayed in Danang (I’m Swedish, DTV Softpower Moay Thai).
What I provided:
. passport main page photo
. All Thai Visa stamps photo, and last Vietnam Stamp.
. Bank statement 6 months at least 500 000 Baht.
. Danang Accommodation 5 nights.
They later requested how i support myself while im in Thailand, i sent them a screenshot of my crypto portfolio.
I’ve learnt so much from this group thank you so much guys. If you’ve got any questions, feel free to ask, I’m more than happy to give back and help where I can.
I’ve been reading so many different things and I’m hesitating between applying in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, or Jakarta.
I also have a Revolut account, and I’ve seen that some people still managed to apply successfully with it. If that’s true, I’d love to hear some positive feedback from you 🙂
Since I’m the owner of a company, I’d also like to know: do I need to provide the last 3 months of the company’s bank statements as well?
I’ve written to several embassies about Revolut but haven’t received any answers yet. Any advice or real experiences would be super helpful!

What is currently the best neighbouring country to go to from Thailand to apply for the DTV? Based on time it is taking and document requests etc. My friend is currently in Thailand and doesnt want to go back to the UK to apply.
Does anybody have a first hand experience with applying for Non-O married to Thai visa through EVISA in the nearby country? I was considering Ho Chi Minh or Kuala Lumpur. Does it really take now 5-7 working days as stated on their website? Or is it maximum consideration time? Before when applying in person i got it next day. Thank you for sharing.
Question about the DTV application in Vietnam (I will probably apply in Ho Chi Minh), has anyone shown proof of funds in a savings account instead of a current account, and was this accepted? And did you need to produce 3 months of bank statements or 6? Thanks! It's been super confusing to work out with some certainly what we'll need
DTV approved for Thai soft power Muay Thai in Ho Chi Minh Vietnam. Submitted application Thursday January 2nd around 9pm, approval came today, January 9th at 3pm. No additional documents were requested. The gym I used was FITFAC in Bangkok.
