That depends on your location / the requrements of the Thai consulate closest to you. For German citizens for example, the Thai consulates in Germany accept a copy of our national ID card as proof of current location. Other consulates in other countries would also accept electricity bills etc. You need to check with them.

You can optionally extend once with every entry. But you are also free to leave and immediately return after every 180 days. See my detailed posts from yesterday.

No doubt. Still a great deal and good price. Just an annoying matter of principle.

No clue at this point. I will just submit a bank statement far exceeding their required 500k THB.

Yes. It started working again now. But I did only a “trial” run. Waiting for some more clarification, first, before I pay and submit.

I partly agree. I am also worried that the DTV might just be too open in rules and requirements as it seems now. It seems quite open to be “abused”. In that case I expect rules and requirements to be tightened up later.

I hear you. With the LTR the price difference came out to be even more drastic (like 500 EUR more e.g. if issued in Germany). However, at least with the LTR people have a choice, as it is also available to be issued / converted to in Thailand at the official price in THB. People could just come on a visa exemption or a TR visa and then collect their LTR in Bangkok. No such path with the DTV. Wrote you a PM in FB messenger btw ... if you have a moment to check. Cheers.

It seems to be so, yes. It would seem this is a great deal visa for people wanting to stay at relatively low requirements for up to 5 years. If would also seem people could just to a quick border bounce every 180 days and factually stay the whole 5 years this way, yes. A visa that many remote workers have been hoping for. Only thing, I am just a bit worried they even went a step too far now, opening it up just for too many people. We will see to what extend it get's "abused" by maybe not so much desirable visitors. I would assume they might tighten that visa up later.
