Apologies for the anonymous post but for obvious reasons It is a necessity. Has anyone applied for a DTV through the soft power route, entered Thailand on the DTV, left again and returned later ever been asked for proof of participation of their soft power activity?

I was approved via Muay Thai course originally booked for February. For a reason I'd rather not disclose I was unable to participate in the course.

I'll be leaving next month and returning in July with the intention of going to the course but I'm worried about the re-entry without participating in the course during the original stay.

Does anybody know if they check or do you think you could do the course anytime within the 5 year period?

I'm ready for the abuse, criticism and butthurt replays but I'm sure I'm not the only person in this position.

The DTV seems perfect for me and I intend to apply in about 6 months time. I could apply for a retirement visa but I don't want to have money tied up in a Thai bank.

I do intend to spend 6 months a year in Thailand and 6 months in UK as I have joint custody of my daughter in UK. A 5 year visa would be ideal as my daughter would be 17 years old when the DTV expires.

I was thinking of the workcation route as I do accounts for a UK limited company however this is part-time and only pays £300 gross each month. Most of my monthly income is from a private pension. I'm concerned that this would not be accepted. Any views?

I have been told by my UK dentist that I need some work doing on my gums which makes soft power an option. What I don't understand with soft power is how any activity, muay Thai, cookery dentistry could be dragged out fir 5 years.

Apologies that this post is so long-winded. 🙏

Yesterday I was criticized by a forum member for offering what he considered to be wrong information about the DTV Visa COURSE of Study offered by...the seminar:

[members only]/

It appears that he has deleted his multiple critical remarks and blocked me for giving correct information. Not a problem for me. I wish him success in whatever he is doing.

I said in my reply to another forum member, that I believed that the course sponsor will make a refund of 80% of the course fee if your DTV visa application was DENIED.

I contacted the COURSE SPONSOR and they promptly replied in email to me:

"Hello James,

for acceptance of soft-power activities we always recommend to Check with your local Thai Embassy.

Acceptance of soft-power activity is at the sole discretion of the consul in charge of the Thai Embassy. We have no impact on that decision (We are not a visa agency or associated with one).

We have several countries globally where our participants were succesful.

If someone is interested, it is always advised to just contact us directly, as things are quite dynamic.

E.g. You mentioned Phnom Penh. No issues for many months, suddenly a few participants rejected and last week approved again.

Does it make sense? Not to us 😅

We currently Offer a 80% refund of the seminar price, in case of soft-power rejection.

(Need proof of rejection, that seminar is not Accepted)

Best regards

DiscoverThaiNature Team"

I also recommend anyone interested in this DTV Visa option... CONTACT THE COURSE SPONSOR TO GET THEIR UPDATED INFO ON WHERE THERE STUDENTS ARE GETTING THE DTV VISA APPLICATION APPROVED.

Hopefully this is helpful information for you ☺️

Hi ! From experiences.

How long did it took you to be approved? Did you try anyone from Malaysia?

I have Argentinian Passport.

I wanna apply for Soft power activities with a Thai Language school in Chiang Mai and don't know which embassy of which country could be good to apply from.

I'm gonna be sure I have the money is needed to prove from the next three months in an Argentinian bank account to apply after .

And I will wait my tourist visa to expire to fly out also . So they don't say I still have tourist visa time available.

Any recommendations for my situation please?

Thank you !

DTV Soft Power Application Cancelled.

Applied at New Delhi Embassy on 26th Feb.

Further document request regarding sources of income on 28th Feb.

Submitted Annual Tax Statement (Form 26AS), which records amount paid and tax deducted, of current and last financial years on 1st March. Stated in a cover letter that I'm unemployed and intend to fund my stay in Thailand using my savings and any income from investments. Included transaction statements of gold investments and crypto.

Received notification that my visa application has been cancelled on 3rd March.

I had 500k THB in my bank account for less than a month. I don't think I made any mistake while filling out the visa application on the website.

Hello everyone, I have a question relating to DTV visa. One of the possibilities to get this Visa is a participation on a soft power activities ,

such as Muay Thai courses, Thai cooking classes, sports training, medical treatment, seminars or music festivals.

My question is:

what is a participation on medical treatment? Does this mean you get the medical treatment or you learn that medical treatment?

I am confused because in all other activities like Muay Thai courses, Thai cooking classes, sports training you will act as a learner.

I am thankful for any clarification.

Thank you

For DTV visa with a Soft Power activity (invisalign)... would I need to pay for the service in advance to get a visa?

Or can I just get a reservation/price quote from an orthodontist, and show the treatment plan/price quote to the embassy?

I'm thinking of getting Invisalign in Bangkok to straighten my teeth.

And I'd want to get the Soft Power DTV visa for a few years while I do this.

I'd rather not pay thousands of dollars to an orthodontist until I am sure that my visa will be approved, though.

Hi, I am planning on doing my dtv soon and wanted to know whether on the visa that you have to show the immigration officer it states which type of soft power you registered for? And if you use a spefic gym is it then possible to switch to a different gym later on? Or is it possible to do a different type of soft power if you discover that muay thai is not for you😅, even though you when doing the application you did it under muay thai. Or does it simply state soft power and you can do whichever one you want when you want?

Hi All. Regarding the Thai soft power activities for my DTV.. will only enrolling my teenager in Muy Thai school qualify for getting my DTV, or does it have to specifically be me enrolling in Muy Thai classes, in order to qualify?

Has anyone successfully applied for DTV using the soft power related activity option , does the course which we signed up for be a 5-YEAR COURSE?

Also, are we ONLY limited to these 3 options for soft power related activity and stated in this website

[members only]

• Muaythai

• Thai culinary training

• Medical treatment

IS Learning Thai language not considered one of the options for the approved course ?

Must the financial evidence be in THAI BHAT ? It can be in our own country's currency, right ?
