if husband and wife each get approved for a separate dtv visa, is 1,000,000 baht needed in their joint account? or is 500,000 baht sufficient?

can anyone clarify if dtv dependents need income verification, and are they also allowed to do soft power?

is there a certain monthly income requirement that's needed for proof, in addition to the mandatory 500,000 thai baht, for the spouse dependent? like in reference to the required bank statements - are they seeking a certain amount?

Considering applying for DTV online via Thailand UK Consulate/Embassy as UK citizen. If main income is from property rent and stock trading and interest - what category and basis should I use? [Note that I do NOT operate via a company, just as a private individual! Thus, not working for any company!]

Apologies for the anonymous post but for obvious reasons It is a necessity. Has anyone applied for a DTV through the soft power route, entered Thailand on the DTV, left again and returned later ever been asked for proof of participation of their soft power activity?

I was approved via Muay Thai course originally booked for February. For a reason I'd rather not disclose I was unable to participate in the course.

I'll be leaving next month and returning in July with the intention of going to the course but I'm worried about the re-entry without participating in the course during the original stay.

Does anybody know if they check or do you think you could do the course anytime within the 5 year period?

I'm ready for the abuse, criticism and butthurt replays but I'm sure I'm not the only person in this position.

The DTV seems perfect for me and I intend to apply in about 6 months time. I could apply for a retirement visa but I don't want to have money tied up in a Thai bank.

I do intend to spend 6 months a year in Thailand and 6 months in UK as I have joint custody of my daughter in UK. A 5 year visa would be ideal as my daughter would be 17 years old when the DTV expires.

I was thinking of the workcation route as I do accounts for a UK limited company however this is part-time and only pays £300 gross each month. Most of my monthly income is from a private pension. I'm concerned that this would not be accepted. Any views?

I have been told by my UK dentist that I need some work doing on my gums which makes soft power an option. What I don't understand with soft power is how any activity, muay Thai, cookery dentistry could be dragged out fir 5 years.

Apologies that this post is so long-winded. 🙏

Yesterday I was criticized by a forum member for offering what he considered to be wrong information about the DTV Visa COURSE of Study offered by...the seminar:

[members only]/

It appears that he has deleted his multiple critical remarks and blocked me for giving correct information. Not a problem for me. I wish him success in whatever he is doing.

I said in my reply to another forum member, that I believed that the course sponsor will make a refund of 80% of the course fee if your DTV visa application was DENIED.

I contacted the COURSE SPONSOR and they promptly replied in email to me:

"Hello James,

for acceptance of soft-power activities we always recommend to Check with your local Thai Embassy.

Acceptance of soft-power activity is at the sole discretion of the consul in charge of the Thai Embassy. We have no impact on that decision (We are not a visa agency or associated with one).

We have several countries globally where our participants were succesful.

If someone is interested, it is always advised to just contact us directly, as things are quite dynamic.

E.g. You mentioned Phnom Penh. No issues for many months, suddenly a few participants rejected and last week approved again.

Does it make sense? Not to us 😅

We currently Offer a 80% refund of the seminar price, in case of soft-power rejection.

(Need proof of rejection, that seminar is not Accepted)

Best regards

DiscoverThaiNature Team"

I also recommend anyone interested in this DTV Visa option... CONTACT THE COURSE SPONSOR TO GET THEIR UPDATED INFO ON WHERE THERE STUDENTS ARE GETTING THE DTV VISA APPLICATION APPROVED.

Hopefully this is helpful information for you ☺️
