Anonymous participant anyone can apply to any visa. But each embassy can make their own decisions to approve or deny the application.

So we could all speculate, but no one can answer that either. Someone might have already done exactly this and gotten the DTV, but that wouldn't change the fact that your application might be totally different and get denied.

You'd better keep the DTV if you don't think the potential job is for you.

No one can predict the future when it comes to Thai immigration. The DTV might be gone in a year or be replaced by something else.

Uhm...the arrival card is literally the same system that's always been there. They paused it after covid and now it's digital instead of on paper.

And yes. You get one on your phone or computer a few days before entering the country. Or you forget, and the airlines make you do it at check-in.
