Hello, my dtv visa needs an extension before may. Did anyone already extend their dtv already? And did you bounce borders or go immigration? Is any paperwork required ?
We attempted to extend my wife’s DTV visa however it was denied.
Was told that since my wife was a dependent DTV visa and I was the main holder that she is unable to file extension unless I the main holder extend as well.
Since I’ve flown in and out recently I am unable to extend since it’s only been about 40 days in Thailand.
So we are required to leave the country and enter again.
Hope this information is helpful to someone.
We haven’t done any visa runs because of her pregnancy and she just gave birth in Thailand.
Someone knows an agent in Pattaya to extend DTV in Thailand for another 180?
I know it’s easy to border bounce but kinda lazy to do so, if there’s a way to pay 5-10K to some agent to extend it for me it’s preferred (can prepare most documents again)
Looking to extend my dtv visa in Chiang Mai. Has anyone been approved? I went soft power route, what documents are needed and will dental work appointments be fine?
Good afternoon. I entered Thailand with DTV in august 24. so i need to extend. I applied under medical soft power and already printed all documents from Bumrungrad hospital. Due to high medical costs and co-pay from insurance, my foreign bank account can’t keep the same balance for months. I printed evidence of income with embassy signature. But if they still want to see a steady balance, I could print a sponsorship letter from relatives. I believe this was meant for emplpyers. Did someone try private sponsorship? I don’t like long bus trips and would prefer to avoid border jumps 🙏
Hi! If we decide to extend our DTV visa (the extra 180 days) and therefore become liable to paying tax, what’s the tax rate? And is the process to pay to go to immigration, or somewhere else?
I have successfully extended my DTV stay for another six months at the Samut Prakan Immigration Office today. The staff there were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the process. Since I couldn’t find clear documentation requirements online, I sought advice directly from the receptionists (who, I must say, were very beautiful, kind and welcoming). Interestingly, they mentioned I was the first person to visit their office specifically for a DTV stay extension.
As a remote worker, my work contract was an *essential* document for the application. Additionally, I needed to submit financial proof, including:
* An updated bank book (passbook) on the same day of the visa extension
* A balance certification signed by the bank
* A bank statement showing the same balance as the certification
Accommodation documents were also required, such as:
* A copy of my rental agreement
* A TM30 form
Initially, I had prepared a bank statement generated two days prior to my visit. However, this didn’t meet the requirements because the passbook needed to be updated on the same day as the visa extension. One thing to note is that although I had updated my passbook the night before my visit, the officer required it to be updated again on the day of the extension, even if no new transactions had occurred. The receptionist kindly explained this detail during my initial inquiry, but I decided to give it a try with what I had. As a result, I had to make an extra trip to the bank’s ATM to update my passbook. Thankfully, everything else was in order. This requirement could be different if you are using a foreign bank as financial proof. In such cases, they might adjust the requirements slightly, or you may have no choice but to fly out and come back or do a border bounce.
I’m sharing this experience and the document requirements for anyone considering a DTV stay extension. Being well-prepared can save time and effort, and the staff at the immigration office are there to help. Overall, it was a smooth process once all the documentation was in place.
