I remember reading in the past people were refused an elite visa after getting an education visa. I guess the DTV is still too new to know if anyone has had issues getting an elite visa after getting a DTV visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the experiences of individuals regarding the eligibility for a Thai Elite visa after holding an education or DTV visa. Some commenters confirm they experienced no issues obtaining the Elite visa with an education visa, while others encountered declines. A key concern seems to stem from fraudulent education visas that were issued without genuine enrollment in educational institutions.

I had an Education visa and then an Elite visa, no problem at all.

The issue was people who paid agents for f@ke education visas. As in the visa was real but they didn't go to school. It was all bribery and f@ke documentation.

People with valid ED visas never had that issue.

Was declined from the Elite visa for that exact reason, and got the DTV this month.

I doubt this is true as the elite is just about money. I have known a lot of ED holders getting the elite.

I had the elite 20 years ago when it expired last year I then got the DTV.

The site I looked at recently said they could not get the Privlege Visa for ex ED visa holders. Never understood this

Not heard anything about after DTV. I have never heard the reasoning why no Elite after an Ed visa either.

afaik it was just a short stop for Elite when they were in the process of increasing the prices… Elite isnt worth the crazy picetag anyway

for most people Elite is normal worth the price tag, but for rich people having expensive hobbies like golf, it seems to be worth the money.

not this. Many people have said they have been outright refused elite visas after having an one year education / muay Thai visa in the past. I want to know if anyone has been refused getting an elite visa after having a DTV visa in the same way.

@Steve ******
yes thanks to cheap backpackers who don't visit the language school. The Thai government is sick of these types of people. If you do it with a legitimate language school, that checks if you attend the classes it is no problem

@Thorsten ********
yeah right, it all boils down to a poorly run government. Even a budget backpacker is worth more in tax revenue than the average Thai.

you answered your own question. It's a new visa. Everyone is trying to get and you want to know if someone is trying to get an Elite after getting a 5 year visa.

What a long way of saying "I have no idea."
