Question re Under Consideration - Married Thai Wife:

I will be returning to Chiang Mai Immigration Friday. My yearly extension of stay based on marriage to Thai wife is under consideration and I am to return in person this Friday. My question is: do I need to produce my Thai bank book again (showing over 400,000 THB) and does bank book need to be updated on the day I return (Friday)? Thank you for advice.

Just visit immigration Jomtien for the 3 months check on the 800 K, all forms and copies completed in and out 5 minutes.

Went to CW today get an extension, Thai Wife from my 90 day Non O Thai wife . I got it but they also said I have to come back in a month. I was a little surprised by that and also the need to also have bank book updated on that day. I was thinking I’d get the extension and then be all set for a year.

Is it standard practice to have to return after a month? I suppose that also means you have to have 400k in a thai bank for at least 3 months.

Thanks to the kind advice I got here last month, my 1 year extension of my Non-O visa based on marriage went pretty well at Chaeng Watthana and tomorrow is the day to finally get the stamp after the "under consideration" period. I am much grateful for this group and the sheer amount of work from the admins and moderators. We're so lucky to have you guys!

On to my question:

The immigration officer who processed our application last month was not clear about what I need to bring tomorrow, and I was curious if I need to update my bank book again in the morning. The issue is that it's a fixed deposit account and the minimum transaction I can make to update the book is 2000 thb. I'd like to avoid this if possible.

Just wanted to check with this group to know if I need a transaction + update and if I need anything else for tomorrow to avoid any surprise.

For information , CW said it was ok if my wife ( Thai citizen) took my passport back by herself to get the year stamp after the month of “ under consideration” .also reminded us to get bank book updated and bring in a copy.

Just curious if anyone else has been asked to present an updated bank book during the under consideration period for a non O marriage visa? Due to return on 23 August to collect my visa. Out of the blue today I get a call asking me to bring a copy of my bank book updated today 🤔.

Sandbox and Visa problem .

Received type O non-imm extension for another year recently. By late September I have to be back in Thailand to prove the 800,000 was in the bank for 3 months.

My plan was to fly to Phuket mid-august and exit sandbox end of August to get back to Pattaya condo beginning of September and then go to immigration to show Bank book 800000 in Jomtien.

Rising cases in Phuket so level one restrictions kicked in today. Level 3 is Hotel quarantine. I do not want to go back to Phuket just to go into Hotel quarantine. If I want to stay in United States to monitor things I would miss the end of September immigration appointment.

So I'm thinking missing that appointment would end my non immigration visa and I would have to start all over when I enter Thailand. Any thoughts?

My Bangkok Bank passbook is back in Pattaya. So there's no way I could pursue the unlikely option of somehow updating the bank book with the balance remotely and showing it to the Thai Embassy in the US.

I applied for a Non O extension on marriage which is under consideration and I have to go back to CW on 7th June. Do I need to update my bank book and get an ATM slip on that day only or do I have to make photo copies of all pages of the bank book again? Anything else required to take along?

I'm heading to Chiang Mai Immigration on Tuesday, after my "under consideration" period, to get my 1 year extension (Thai wife) inked into my passport. Can anyone please confirm any documentation requirements. I guess passport copy and updated bank book copy as a minimum? Cheers.

Update 27 April 2021... got the stamp today until next year, only passport required, nothing else, in and out in 6 minutes. This was CHIANG MAI immigration.

I'm due to return to CW in October re my Thai wife extn which is under consideration at the moment. My plan is to update and copy my bank book the day before I go (no SCB in CW); does the copy need to be stamped by the bank or is it OK if I copy and print off myself?
