I'm heading to Chiang Mai Immigration on Tuesday, after my "under consideration" period, to get my 1 year extension (Thai wife) inked into my passport. Can anyone please confirm any documentation requirements. I guess passport copy and updated bank book copy as a minimum? Cheers.

Update 27 April 2021... got the stamp today until next year, only passport required, nothing else, in and out in 6 minutes. This was CHIANG MAI immigration.

Well at least we now know that Chiang Mai does NOT require you to update your bank book when you go back to get a year extension based on marriage :)

AFAIK: Chiang Mai doesn't ask for an updated bank book when you go back (Bangkok does). Just your passport and the blue/green receipt showing you paid 1900baht is all you need

If your still worried you could pop in Monday ask the volunteers by the entrance they are excellent for advice.

Best of luck.

... yes I considered that as they were very helpful when I originally enquired about the extension and when I went to apply. I'm not at all worried but if I'm up that way on Monday I'll pop in and ask.

Did they give you any handouts or instructions on what to bring?

... I got the handout for applying but when I applied they just told me to come back on the date stamped in my passport, they didn't mention any documents.

I'd bring the following:

- Your passport

- *IF* you're using banked money method, an updated bank book showing the 400K THB has not been touched.

... that's what I reckoned and was planning to take. Easy to get copies there if they require them. Thanks.
