Pro tip. When collecting your passport at Savannakhet Consulate, you can get there early and stand in the baking sun for an hour, or, go at 1415 and have the place to yourself.

Im in an urgent need for US visa. I justgot my vacation confirmed. I want to go to the US in June so I applied for the interview in US embassy in Chiangmai it’s available slot on 21st of April. Because the closest appointment date in Bangkok is in August which is too late for my trip.

I just want to ask if its possible to do this? And i chose to pick up my passport in my area in Bangkok. What if it is better to receive by mailing? Has anyone ever done something like this?

I have a 60-day tourist visa and will be applying for the 30-day extension at Jomtien immigration. Do you get the extension right there on the spot or do you have to come back the next day to collect your passport with the extension in it?

For information , CW said it was ok if my wife ( Thai citizen) took my passport back by herself to get the year stamp after the month of “ under consideration” .also reminded us to get bank book updated and bring in a copy.

I have an interesting question. It is possible my Visa was processed on the same day when it arrived in the embassy? My passport arrived yesterday around 11 a.m. and I checked my status for fun today and it says Ready for collection... Or if it was processed this fast mean wasn't accepted?? Sorry for the stupid question, but the embassy website says because of the high demand the process takes 7-10 days....

Anyway, if is any reason not accepted they send you an e-mail or anything or just sending back your passport??

If you're going phuket immigration to collect passport you need to go to the small building on the right just inside the entrance.

I've a stamp until the 9th October I've to come back and get a stamp just a heads up.

My new passport is waiting for me in the embassy, however I'm quite reluctant to collect it now (old one is valid for 4 more years, just full). And I'm even more reluctant to go to IO (CW) to transfer the stamps. Do you know what is maximum time I should go to IO to transfer the stamp since new passport collection?

Update: Thai consulate in Savannakhet called at my husband hotel to pick up a passport- special case for those who applied on Friday.
