Question re Under Consideration - Married Thai Wife:

I will be returning to Chiang Mai Immigration Friday. My yearly extension of stay based on marriage to Thai wife is under consideration and I am to return in person this Friday. My question is: do I need to produce my Thai bank book again (showing over 400,000 THB) and does bank book need to be updated on the day I return (Friday)? Thank you for advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice regarding the need to bring an updated Thai bank book showing over 400,000 THB for their yearly extension of stay application based on marriage to a Thai wife, which is currently under consideration. Community members clarified that while it is generally not required to present an updated bank book at the Chiang Mai immigration office for the marriage extension, it is advisable to carry it just in case. Ultimately, it's important to have your passport and the payment receipt ready for the appointment.

Chiang Mai does NOT require you show an updated bank book when you go back to get the year extension inked in after the under consideration period on married to a thai extensions.

Just show up with the passport and the blue/green receipt showing you paid the 1900baht for the extension and they should in the 11 months into your passport no issues at all

Usually not ( I never had to show), but I always carry my bank book with me when I pick up my extension

As a general rule, there is no requirements for the seasoning of funds after the application is accepted in case of a 1-year extension based on being a spouse to a Thai national. But some offices might ask you to keep funds for a certain period during the under-consideration period. If you are worried, keep your funds and bring the updated passbook with you. In case they require you to have it, you need to update your passbook on the day you go to the immigration office to get the remaining 1 year.

Let's see if anyone in this group knows about the CM policy of funds requirements for an extension based on marriage to a Thai. OR post to ChiangMai-related groups, you may get the answer faster.
