Ok I’m coming to Bangkok on the 22nd or so of October for 3+ weeks, have a plan of sorts - I’m coming on the standard tourist visa as I plan to leave on the 16th of November. I want to find a decent 1bed 1 bath place near 24 if possible. I don’t work, I’m a day trader/swing trader so I make fast cash and then chill. Is the ability to show the Thai visa agency’s say an $80k USD realized gain in my account a good enough piece to get either a retirement visa (50 in December) or a remote worker visa? If not, if my plan is to come for a few weeks then back to US for a month or two then another month in Bangkok and so on doable 100% on the free tourist entry each time?
Have to do it like this till my son is 18 and graduated since he wants to remain in the US and I have a desire to not be in the US anymore 😆
Does anyone have an up to date, English language list of requirements needed by Jomtien immigration for a 1 year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai?
I've just been in and all they have is a list printed in Thai which seems strange as surely everyone who wants to apply will be non Thai?
With the best will in the world this isn't something my wife could confidently deal with.
What is happening with the new online visa for those from countries who were free of visa before? I’m from Ireland and normally only had to present my passport
I am traveling to Thailand since 23 years, now being 50yrs old with German passport, and always on visa exempt stamp.
Since last year it seems using this way of entering the country is getting more and more tricky as I enter the country 2-3x during a 4 weeks holiday trip entering other SEA countries as well.
I also own a Condo in my name in Pattaya btw.
Now wondering what visa to apply for, probably DTV as I have all the requirements handy, to get not stressed with questions and evidence for my own purpose.
What is your guys recommendation in my case for 2-3 yearly visits to SEA in total not more than 120days but multiple Thailand entries?
I don't want to live there or apply for a standard tourist visa as I can't see a big difference.
As German I have also 2 passports (both German) which is allowed for critical purposes and land borders (Emirates, Israel, Cuba etc.) and I could potentially change my passport each time or so.
What are your recommendations for best and flexible options for myself?
I have the project to go live in Thailand this year. I've started to apply to engineer positions from my home country but I would like to pursue my research in Thailand.
As Non-immigrant B visa requires a job to get it, do you know an option allowing me to go in Thailand to carry on my job research there ?
Is the conversion of a tourism visa to a Non-immigrant B visa possible once I get a job there?
I tried to do all the right things. Rang the Thai consulate in Australia, only got an automated message to email questions instead. Did that and they didn’t answer my main question.
Can anyone who applied through one of the Australian consulates please tell me how long the 500k have to sit in one bank account before you apply? We have savings in several different accounts and I don’t really want to move that money until we have to.
Is it enough to show 3-6 months of statements showing regular income plus transferring the 500k just before applying? Or does it have to sit in one account for 3-6 months?
Also, how many months of statements did you have to submit.
