My wife is on a dependent DTV visa. We have exited and entered Thailand many times before and always together. However, due to some unforeseen circumstances I need to stay in Europe a bit longer and she needs to travel back alone. Can she enter without me? Does anyone have experience with this? The reason I ask is because on one occasion while entering Thailand, the immigration officer asked her "where is your husband?". I was just behind in the queue and she could point to me.

That's similar as UAE family visa where a family has to travel together if they applied under family category. Yup, third world countries have to take UAE visa as well ❤️‍🩹

But DTV dependent is just like a full DTV. Her visa has separate expiry, corresponding to her issue date. It's not tied to your visa in any sense. The IO question was in broader perspect. Maybe he would have asked her proof of funds etc if you weren't there. But she can surely travel independent.
