Do I still have to Take Lessons? How many? Do i need to prove this?
Thank you
I have a situation that may or may not be complex. I work as an independent game developer and I'm moving to Thailand in July. For the past year I've worked on a commercial product which is nearly ready for release. It should be ready for release probably around when I first move to Thailand.
I plan to have sales profits sent directly to my bank account in Thailand. I have absolutely no issue paying taxes on whatever comes in. What I'm concerned about is the fact that I won't have a work permit and I read that any kind of digital work that provides income requires you to have a work permit. However what if 95% or even 100% of that work wasn't done in Thailand? Would I still require the work permit and DTV because the proceeds of that work are heading to a Thai bank account?
For additional context, I'll be on a Non-O Visa.
I've asked this question in other countries I've been an expat in and there are always a group of people that tell me to not send my money to Thailand and send it to my home country instead then wire to Thailand as needed. So let me just address this ahead of schedule. I have zero connection with my home country. No bank account, no family, nothing. I left it over 14 years ago and have no plans to go back.
Question re cheapest health Insurance for over 50s retirement visa applicants.. As a lucky australian with free healthcare in my country, i want the cheapest policy i can get, that will at least cover me for an accident or emergency before i get home. Which insurance companies do people know offering a cheaper pay as you go policy to get through the first few months requiements and fulfils the visa requirements ( i am 61 tomorrow in great health)
Maybe a unique situation. Dual citizen UK & USA. Elite/Privilege visa on USA passport. Living in USA. Question is....Is it possible to have another visa on the UK passport for example Marriage visa so that you would be able to work in Thailand. Wondering anyone out there in a similar situation. Thanks
For DTV visa, on 1st arrival in Thailand, do you need to show a return ticket after the 180 days period ?
Quick question.
My extended non-O spouse visa expires on 15th May 2025.
I managed to get an online appointment on the 21st of April.
Is this considered too late to extend?
Is there anything you need to do online before arriving in Thailand by air? I just want the 60 day visa on arrival.
Hello,
I read someone recently was held up at customs on entry into Thailand with a METV and I wanted to make sure I have all my bases covered.
For a METV when you enter Thailand what date should you have the ticket to show you are leaving Thailand?
Last time I had a METV I just had a ticket for my departure 7 months later at the end of the my visa stay.
When I flew out twice to reset my visa I bought my ticket after each time I had entered Thailand for the next flight to KL from Phuket.
They never asked me for a flight out the first time I entered back into Thailand but the second time they did.
On reflection the departure flight should probably should be either within 60 days or 90 days if you plan on getting extension of your entry into Thailand to be correct.
Do you have to have 20,000 baht cash with you or can you should customs on a bank account app?
And I understand you need to have proof of paid accommodation.
Thanks in Advance 🙏
Hi, need a quick answer please, not been to Thailand for over a decade, can you please tell me how long you get in Thailand without a visa from Uk !? Answer I'm finding on Google are conflicting !
Anyone know if you can teach in a school and maintain DTV Visa or do you have to switch to the Non-Immigrant "B" Visa?
