Does this only apply to foreigners entering Malaysia because, Malaysians can’t seem to do it.

I am sure Penang still does. I was offered multiple entries in February this year but I opted for Single Entry. I had to show the 400K of 6 months to be given the multiple entry option.

But I have also heard from many that if you don’t show proof of funds, you’ll only be given 3 months.

But then again, I have a Malaysian passport.

% correct as usual. He gave me the same advice. I learned it the hard way. Let me share my experience.

My work permit stamp wasn't canceled officially on my passport. The immigration officer at the airport was kind enough to point out that it wasn't cancelled properly and told me to do it before I apply for another non-B with a future employer. I had to fly back to Phuket from Bangkok to get it canceled properly as I was based there then. I thought just exiting Thailand after the backend cancellation in their system would be fine. I was wrong.
