This was supposed to happen decades ago but didn't then. When you look at the quality of the person arriving for a free visa on arrival these days, it's no surprise that finally the government is cracking down.

I doubt your argument would stand up in any court. You are an ALIEN in Thailand. Get used to it. Governments everywhere decide who to allow into their respective countries. You could try entering as a potential refugee but be prepared to be ridiculed and then locked up.

If you treat the border runs like opportunities for a new visa only then yes you'll have problems.

You can have a place in Thailand and travel to renew visas. The visa merrygoround involving bank deposits, immigration etc is time consuming and soul destroying.

You are both young enough to travel for visa renewals to neighboring countries. Why get stuck in the visa treadmill and keep money tied up in Thai banks?
