Can anyone confirm if I have this right..

I returned to uk in August this year after 7 weeks in Thailand.

I'm returning in January for 4 months.

I'm a tourist and finishing off dental work there that I started earlier this year.

Do I get 90 day visa then go to the local immigration office and extend one month ?

If not, What's the best,/correct way to do this.

Thank-you in advance.

Hello community,

thank you so much for replying to my last post.

I got a much better feeling about going for the DTV after your replies.

But now I contacted an agent and received below reply…

What is the current political situation in Thailand? Does it make sense to apply for DTV?

“Hello Kat,

At this time, we no longer offer services for the 5 Year - Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) due to recent political changes and concerns about the program's longevity. Additionally, banks have stopped allowing banking services for DTV holders.

Instead, we recommend our long-term ED visa services, which do not require you to leave the country every six months and allow you to open a bank account. This is a great option for those under 50 years old.”

Quick question - can I use my International Driving Permit (IDP) to apply for a Thai driver’s license and TM30, or do I need to wait until after my first 90-day report?

📩 Community Support Request — DTV (Soft Power) Application Rejected

Edit: New update, I was speaking to an agent and he said when they requested for all pages of passport this includes cover to cover of the passport and I missed some pages. 😓 I'm starting a new application now.

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some advice from this community.

I recently applied for the DTV visa (Soft Power – Muay Thai) in Bali, Indonesia, and my application was rejected without any reason provided.

Before the rejection, the consulate asked me to submit every page of my passport, which I did, and then shortly after I received the rejection notice.

A bit of background about my situation:

✅ I’ve been traveling in and out of Thailand for the past 1.5 years (many visa runs, which are clearly visible in my passport)

✅ My source of income is rental property, and I submitted:

• 3 months bank statements showing >500,000 THB

• Tenancy agreement + renewal letter

• Stamp certificate

• Quit rent + assessment tax

✅ I previously overstayed 1 day, but I paid the fine at the border

So far, no explanation was given for the rejection, and I’m trying to understand whether:

1. Anyone has had a similar experience applying in Bali

2. My frequent visa runs could have affected the decision or the 1 day overstay

3. It’s worth reapplying there or trying another consulate/online

I’m currently considering speaking to an agency - Belkin Group Indonesia or MPG Bali Visa Agent for guidance, but I’d love to hear from anyone who has gone through something similar especially those applying through Soft Power / Muay Thai.

Any insights, experiences, or suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you so much 🙏

For the LA consulate, has anyone who's gotten approved for the DTV, what did you use for the "place of issue" and "city of birth". I've searched around and got mixed answers. Some say for the place of issue use USA, United States, or United States Department of State. For city of birth some say use the state as in the passport and others say both city and state. Should you use city [space] state, ex Seattle Washington or just stick with the state (as seen on the passport) even though it asks for the city? Any advice would be appreciated.

Update: Thanks everyone. For other people's reference this worked for me.

City of Birth: I put down the state as my passport only shows the state

Place of Issue: United States

I can’t see on my DTV visa where it says 90 day check in etc

Can someone show me where I should see the 90 day check in? Will I see on my passport? Or will I get another email when I enter the country?

Entered the Kingdom on October 25th on a Non-O Visa. This is my first visit. I have copies of my Visa, Passport pictures, TDAC and TM30.

Trying to make sense of the stamps in my Passport. Is January 22nd my first 90 day check in?

Immigration said I'm only allowed to be in the Kingdom for five months. Which is fine since I am here with my wife taking care of some loose ends pertaining to her mother. We have obligations back in the States and will be here to wrap up some business, travel a bit and then go home.

Thank you
