Quick question - can I use my International Driving Permit (IDP) to apply for a Thai driver’s license and TM30, or do I need to wait until after my first 90-day report?

Do i really need a Thai Driving License if i have an current UK issued valid IDP and a UK license. I'm going for a retirement visa next week.

I have just received my O retirement visa. I am driving my wife's car. how long can I drive on my international drivers permit?

can i still use these to transfer/get a Thai Driver license without doing the full driver training as if i have never have a license before?

Simple question regarding driving licences

As a UK Citizen my UK driving licence expires somewhere around my 80th Birthday (it’s that far way I’ve never really considered it)

When I move to Thailand, I will initially have an International Driving Permit with a view to getting a Thai Licence (car not motorbike)

How long can I drive under my IDP and how long will ’my’ Thai Driving Licence be valid once I get it

On a side note, if anyone has any experience of obtaining a Thai Driving Licence or extending it, I would appreciate hearing your experiences

I have read on Tripadvisor driving in Thailand section that an International Driving Permit is not valid if you've got a Non Immigrant visa as it is only valid for tourist visas. I can't find other references to this. Has anyone got more information? Thanks!
