In view of on-going Bangkok Bank problems, I am thinking of opening another account elsewhere. Despite having lived at the same address for over a decade, nothing is in my name. So, how do I prove my address? Is a Thai driving licence sufficient? Seem to recall something about a yellow book. Is that an answer? Something from Immigration, despite them never having visited?

I've just been in and all they have is a list printed in Thai which seems strange as surely everyone who wants to apply will be non Thai?

Hello everybody! Can anybody tell me if I need get two copies of Certificate of Residence from the immigration to get Thai Drivers License for both motorbike and car? Or I have to get only one Certificate of Residence and then can just photocopy it?

I'm aware that I need to prepare two sets of every documents if I'm applying for both motorbike and car driving licenses. But the Certificate of Residency part is confusing to me. Do I need to get two original Certificate of Residence from immigration?

Also, what are the documents required to get the Certificate of Residence? I have my TM30, Passport copies and rent agreement. Do I need anything else? Is there any fees involved?

Just for reference, I'll be applying at Jomtien Immigration, Pattaya.

With a DTV Visa in Thailand, can I change my tax residence and become taxed in Thailand only ?

Warning for flying.

Qatar airlines refused my wife to fly from London Gatwick on Sunday morning, with no onward ticket. She produced dtv and an unbelievably stubborn rude woman on check in, just point blank refused. Had to book a wasted flight, loads of hassle for nothing.

We've both flown on numerous occasions without onward travel of any kind. First time we've had this.
