When people are saying cambodia, laos and vietnam are switching ro evisa. What does that mean? That people can only apply from their home country? As on the evisa site, doesn’t seem to be able to be done in another country…

Edit: So looks like Laos, Jakarta + Taipei are the go to for those in Thailand and people are hevauly favouring Taiepei + Jakarta.

Thanks to everyone who posted in this group and for the valuable support.

Got my TDV today from Vientiane -

I had a document from the dentist explaining my problems and the need to frequent appointments and follow ups ( FYI , it’s for real) and of course the other requested documents.

No questions and easy process.

Good luck 🍀

I would like to share how I got my DTV visa in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

This group helped me a lot during my preparation and that's why I wanna contribute too.

❗I applied in September and at that time, the embassy accepted walk-in application, however, it will change to Evisa starting from 8th October.

General info

--------------------

The process was pretty easy in my case.

No appointment was needed.

I applied on a Friday and got an appointment next Friday.

The processing time was pretty long though.

There was no interview.

Visa fees $400

Documents I submitted

---------------------------------------

✅Passport

✅Passport front page copy

✅Visa application form

(1 photo, white background, 3.5 x4.5 cm)

✅Place of stay in Thailand (condo rental contract)

✅Flight ticket (not a mandatory though, since I have already bought one, I submitted it also)

✅Workcation category

•Work contract

•Recommendation letter

•Payslips (6 months)

✅Bank statement (3months)

•With Myanmar bank account

•The account has been opened for more than 1 year but was inactive without transactions.

•Put the money 2 weeks prior to my application date

✅Bank certificate

•I requested the bank to include the currency in both MMK and USD.

•Both of my bank statement and bank certificate are not the original documents. Since I am already in Thailand, my mom helped me get the documents and sent me the scanned copies. I submitted with the sacnned ones and that was okay.

I have also made a video about this but I'm sorry it's not in English sub.

Hope this helps!

All the best ☘️

For a remote worker applying for DTV, does my employer's company need to be registered in the country where I am applying for DTV?

For example, if the company is US-based and registered in the US, but the project is in Laos and I, as a Taiwanese national, can work entirely remotely, can I apply for DTV in Laos with the company’s US registration? Or does the company need to be registered in Laos?

October holidays for immigration offices.

Please be aware that

Monday October 14th and

Wednesday October 23rd

are public holidays and all immigration offices will be closed.

Airports or land borders are not affected by these closures.

If you have a stamp that expires on one of these dates then either apply early for an extension or go the next open day. For the latter you’d get a small stamp in Thai saying “overstay, fine waived due to closure”.

Hello

We finally received the visa for my husband.

Nationality: Iraqi

Resident: Belgium

Visa : single entry tourism

In the past the visa stated the max date of entry and the visa length (2 months). But this has changed.

It states-valid from- and -valid until-

Does that mean he can (in theory) arrive 3 Oct and leave the 29 Dec ?

I don’t see a max validity in days on it.

Thanks advice

Hi,

Hope you're all well.

I'm currently in Bangkok. The Visa exemption stamp on my passport says 17th November (60 days). I will then need to go to a local Immigration Office to extend for another 30 days if I want to stay longer. Is this correct?

Would you be able to provide suggestion on the best/fastest office to go too?

I’m currently staying in Chatuchak area.

Thank you! 🙏

Education Visa. If I leave the country and get a re-entry permit but can’t make it back in to Thailand due to personal reasons, is there a penalty other than losing my ED validity? Or will I just have to apply for a new one? Black listing? Fine?
