Second entry on my DTV after 5 months in Thailand. Arrived at DMK from KUL, presented DTV printout (A4), TDAC printout, and my passport. No questions, straight through in 30 seconds after photo and fingerprints. Swedish passport, workcation category.

I know there is scaremongering going on, but I assure you it's smoother than ever on a DTV. I just saw one guy pulled aside because he didn't fill in the TDAC.

Just applied for the DTV from Kyoto, Japan (the Osaka embassy) as a US Citizen. Did tons of research beforehand and saw mixed reviews about whether it was possible. Wanted to share my success! I applied on January 5th and was approved on January 7th with only one request for an additional document (a confirmation of my return travel itinerary to Thailand). I applied under the workcation category as a remote worker. Here is what I included in my application:

1. Biodata Passport page and recent Passport-style photo.

2. Cover letter (included with the financial documents) describing my situation, why I wanted to stay in Thailand, and what documents I included in my application.

2. Financial Documents: I included 6 months of bank statements (it says only 3 are required but many people reported receiving requests for additional proof), my most recent US Federal tax return, my company’s most recent financial statement, and my company’s official US registration and tax ID #.

3. Personal Documents: my job contract with my company as proof of employment (my contract included a clause approving my ability to work remotely, which I called out in the cover letter), a photo of my passport with the Osaka airport stamp, a photo of my inbound plane ticket and a receipt of a coffee I purchased that included the location on it as additional proof of my presence in Kyoto, and a copy of my hotel reservation/itinerary.

Hope this helps someone!

Hi there! I wanted to ask if it’s possible to apply for the DTV Nomad Visa as a consultant. I work for a marketing firm as a consultant and wasn’t sure if that qualifies under the program. What sort of documentation are required from the company Also, is there a minimum monthly salary requirement, or do you just need to show a certain bank balance instead? Would really appreciate any clarity or guidance on this. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, has anyone experienced this? The immigration officer questioned why is your DTV not issued from your birth country? The officer hesitated to stamp but eventually did.

Is there a need to reapply DTV in my birth country or continue using my current DTV?

FYI. I wasn’t able to apply in my birth country as DTV isn’t available back then not until this year. Currently on workcation category.

Would love to hear your opinions :)

I would like to share how I got my DTV visa in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

This group helped me a lot during my preparation and that's why I wanna contribute too.

❗I applied in September and at that time, the embassy accepted walk-in application, however, it will change to Evisa starting from 8th October.

General info

--------------------

The process was pretty easy in my case.

No appointment was needed.

I applied on a Friday and got an appointment next Friday.

The processing time was pretty long though.

There was no interview.

Visa fees $400

Documents I submitted

---------------------------------------

✅Passport

✅Passport front page copy

✅Visa application form

(1 photo, white background, 3.5 x4.5 cm)

✅Place of stay in Thailand (condo rental contract)

✅Flight ticket (not a mandatory though, since I have already bought one, I submitted it also)

✅Workcation category

•Work contract

•Recommendation letter

•Payslips (6 months)

✅Bank statement (3months)

•With Myanmar bank account

•The account has been opened for more than 1 year but was inactive without transactions.

•Put the money 2 weeks prior to my application date

✅Bank certificate

•I requested the bank to include the currency in both MMK and USD.

•Both of my bank statement and bank certificate are not the original documents. Since I am already in Thailand, my mom helped me get the documents and sent me the scanned copies. I submitted with the sacnned ones and that was okay.

I have also made a video about this but I'm sorry it's not in English sub.

Hope this helps!

All the best ☘️
