Hello Everyone! First time posting in the group. Does anybody happen to have any experience or knowledge with the spousal visa CR1 in a foreign country? I’m American and my wife is Filipina We live in Thailand, as I have my retirement visa and she’s a dependent under my retirement visa and Thailand is our home. I tried googling and getting a hold of both embassies in Thailand, and in Philippines, and not getting any definite, clear answers. Does anybody have any knowledge or personal experience in a situation like this? to me, it makes sense to process the visa in Bangkok at the US Embassy since that is our residence but yet she is a Filipina, so not sure if it needs to be done in the Philippines, which that would make no sense to keep going back-and-forth

TIA!

Ok. I have a ‘what-if’ question.

I am arriving in Thailand soon, will be getting a bank account and visa extension based on marriage to a Thai lady. I plan to deposit 800k right away. My wife has a weak health and even though she is younger than me, chances are that I will live longer than she.

Now the question (and don’t start vomiting your wisdom about owning land and other irrelevant nonsense - I know and have taken precautions):

When I need to convert my visa extension from ‘married to Thai’ to a retirement visa I must have 800k in the bank. Will I by then need to prove that the money came from abroad or will a bank statement with 800k and supporting bank letter suffice?

Hey guys just a quick question. I got stamped in on a tourist visa until 29th Feb but my flight out is on 2nd march. Since it’s only 2 days is it possible to avoid going to immigration and extending for another 30 days? Is paying for 2 days over stay a bad idea? Any tips would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance!

This is my first time using the Notification of staying in The Kingdom (Over 90 days) – TM 47, and as expected, it was not working 🙃

I got the below messages in an email 24 hours after submitting the information online.

Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been rejected.

**Incorrect entry date upon entry into the kingdom/ Incorrect visa expiration date.

**

As you can read above, there are two reasons why the online registration was rejected. However, the dates I entered online are correct unless there is something I don't understand.

**Incorrect visa expiration date:

**I used the date stamped in my passport as the date where my NON-IMM Extention of stay is permitted to 8/11-2024

(so that date is correct)

Incorrect entry date upon entry into the kingdom:

As far as I understand, this is the date stamped into my passport on the latest day I arrived in Thailand after being abroad.

In my case, I arrived on 14/12-2023 at BBK Airport.

So the only thing I could've imagined is that I'm not supposed to use the latest arrival date, but instead, another date from the first time I arrived in Thailand or the arrival date before the one-year extension of stay was issued? **

**I know that that would not make sense, but could that be the case?

Has anyone experienced the same problem, or could you let me know what date to use?**

Hello, does someone know about the opening days of Chaeng Wattana Immigration on Songkran this year.

Will it be just the 3 days [11-13] as before or now the whole week [as they have now extended it]

Related to this, I have an Non-O visa /Thai Wife. Next extension is due for 15th May.

How long before that date can i apply for the extension. Is it just a month or can it be earlier than that?

Thanks for your help.
