With our kids 90 day non-ED visa, do we have up until its expiry to apply for the 1 year extension? (noting that we're still waiting for school paperwork to be completed & their visas expire 4th Feb). I've tried to research this myself, but all that I can find that is definitive is that you can apply after 45 days have elapsed from the issue date, but then conflicting info as to what's the last day you can apply for the renewal ... with 15 & 30 days often cited, as well as, right up until the expiry date. Could someone please clarify for me? Thanks!

Just got my visa application canceled because I missed my middle name in application process.

Indeed that's totally my fault but do we have to pay 340$ each time a mistake is made ?

I felt more secure to apply online when I heard that if you don't have all the documents the will ask you for more documents instead of immediately canceling the application.

This is some of the things that would never happen when applying physicall. I'm very disgusted about that behavior to be honest.

Hello, a question if anyone else is facing this and recommended action, I applied for DTV on 22nd of December and gave all documents required, on 23rd it went from pending document check to pending approval, and its been like that since. embassy took 31, and 1st of January off and the rest are working days.. website says processing time is within 10 working days and its been 14 working days and status is the same, I couldn't get any information by calling the embassy. should I pay them a visit? is this normal to take that long? no extra documents were required.

If I apply for a DTV in Vietnam while traveling around Asia and happen to be in Cambodia (or any other country besides Thailand) when it’s approved, is that acceptable? I’m aware of the interview requirement and understand the risks, but I can always take a flight back to Vietnam for the interview if necessary. I’ve been trying to find information about this on the official DTV websites, but I haven’t seen anything stating that I need to remain in Vietnam until the visa is approved.

I’ve also read comments in this group comparing this process to the walk-in visas (before the system moved online). However, in my opinion, they’re completely different. With walk-in visas, you had to wait to pick up the visa at the embassy, whereas with the online system, everything is handled and issued digitally. So, it’s not exactly the same.

Hello everyone,

I am going to apply for the DTV (freelancer) visa for myself, and I would like to include my wife so we don’t need to provide double financial proof.

Where do I apply for the DTV for her?

Digital nomad in music production here going for the DTV!

Got alot of electronics such as a laptop, headphones, sound interface and such.

I’ve read that the limit is electronics under 20 000 THB otherwise I need to pay import or customs duty, but I really need it to be able to work.

What do you think?

APPROVED - HCMC via Muay Thai

I owe this post to all of you, as this group has offered such valuable advice during my months of researching this visa.

Applied: Sunday January 5th, 4pm

Requested Additional Doc: Wednesday 8th, 11am

Submitted Additional Doc: Wednesday 8th, 6pm

Status Changed from "Document Check to Pending Approval" on the morning of Thursday 9th

Approved: Sunday 12th, 10:54pm (By email with visa attached as PDF)

I guess it did take 5 business days, or 7 calendar days, to receive full approval.

The additional requested documents was a Training Schedule of my Muay Thai classes. For this, I simply went onto my gyms website, took a screenshot of the their training schedule and submitted that. The other request was for 6 months bank statement. When I applied, I accidentally submitted 5.5 months. I have had 500k THB in my account for the past 3 months.

The gym I signed up with: [members only]/

Management was fantastic to deal with. Very fast responses and I helpful. They have all sorts of different packages, but I signed up for 1 month unlimited training. I also visited this gym and trained there before committing to the course.

A little tip, I pre-filled 95% of the application while I was in Thailand 24 hours before landing in Vietnam. When I arrived at my hotel in HCMC, I uploaded my passport page with the immigration entry stamp, boarding pass and a copy of my hotel booking invoice. So, I basically spent about 5min submitting the final docs.

Well...it's time to go celebrate with a fully loaded Bahn Mi before I fly out Bangkok tomorrow! 🤣

Good luck everyone!
