I’m sure this has been addressed but I can’t find an answer. Friend in Australia. He wants to visit Thailand for 60 days. Should be just show up and extend a 30 day stamp? Or what do you suggest. Thanks.
Any other business owners and DTV holders with Australian passport? 21 and plan to live in Thailand until my company reaches usd25k a month. I am An individual carrying on a business in their own capacity and dont have anything registered with my government.
- Is registring as a sole trader and getting ABN enough for proof of business?
-Ill also send emails and letters confirming myself as working there for the length of my visa, proof of current Australian clietns and will not take on any Thai clients. —Ive got financial proof of funds. Valid passport, photos, application, app fees not a problem, also an address both Aus and Thailand.
I've been coming to Thailand twice a year regularly on a visa-exempt entry as I usually stay for a few weeks or a month there. I have an Australian passport.
For the next visit, I would like to stay longer, for around 3 months, and think it's better to get a tourist visa offically before flying out and to extend it for 30 days when I'm there. Is this better than arriving visa-exempt again and then applying for 30 day extension? Or is there no difference between getting a tourist visa officially or arriving without a visa to get that 30 day extension?
I'm getting so much conflicting advice, hopefully someone here can set me straight,
Australian passport, arriving 3rd of September to bangkok international airport. One way ticket.
At the momment I have no Visa, will I get 30 days on arrival, or 60 days on arrival,
Can you extend for another 30 days, regardless of if I get 30 or 60 days on arrival.
Do immigration require an onward ticket, if so, does it have to be a plane ticket, or would something like a bus ticket, hat yai to Penang be sufficient.
Just an update on successful entering with DTV for the second time at Chiang Mai international.
I entered first time on DTV through Suvarnabhumi airport in January.
Left from CNX after a 5 month stay for a 2 week trip to China.
Arrived last night at CNX, while queuing an immigration officer raised her hand and said “DTV” toward the supervisor for another person entering on DTV. The supervising officer who was controlling the line just waved like it was ok.
When I went up to the immigration officer (not the same one that asked the supervisor) he only asked what I was doing in Thailand and I said “workcation, I work online and live in Thailand”. He smiled and handed back my passport with 180 day DTV stamp.
Additional info: Australian passport holder applied for DTV at Sydney consulate.
