We have officially purchased our plane tickets and we are preparing to file for visa because we don't arrive until Aug. 3, 2026. We are wondering when we file for DTV visa do we each apply separately as married or is there a joint application process?

I’ll be traveling with my child (under 20) as a dependent. Since I’m currently in Phuket, I’d love some advice on the following:

1. Route from Phuket: What is the most efficient and cheapest way to get to Vientiane from Phuket with a child? Is the direct flight to Udon Thani + van to the border still the best recommended route?

2. Accommodation in Vientiane: Any recommendations for family-friendly hotels that are convenient for the Thai Embassy/Consulate? (Looking for places with good Wi-Fi and maybe a pool for the kid while we wait for the e-Visa).

3. Critical Documents for e-Visa: Besides the School’s Acceptance Letter and Syllabus, what are the "must-have" details that often get overlooked? For the 500k THB financial proof (from a Thai Bank), do I need a Bank Certificate or just the 3-month statement?

4. Applying for a Dependent (<20 y.o.): How does the process work for my child?

• Do I submit a separate application for him simultaneously?

• Is the Birth Certificate (English translation) the only proof of relationship needed?

• Can we share the same 500k THB bank balance proof?

5. Safety & Sightseeing: How safe is Vientiane for a parent traveling alone with a child? Any kid-friendly spots or hidden gems to visit during the 5-7 days waiting period?

Hi, My wife and I are looking to apply for the DTV (soft power activities)myself being the main applicant, does my wife have to enrol in these activities also or is it just the main applicant? Also what minimum time periods do we need to enrol for, as we plan to stay in Thailand approximately 6 months each year.

Hello, does anyone know if when I apply for my DTV I can apply for both mine and those of my dependents (wife and children) together in the same process, or would I have to apply for mine first and once approved I could apply for my dependents' visas?

Applied in Jakarta from Bali on April 30th.

On May 6th it went to pending approval.

Just now I received the email with the approved DTV 🙏🏽

I do have one question. I need to apply for my 2 kids as dependents. Do I do this from my account or do they need to have their own? 🤷🏽‍♀️

To apply as a dependent (me and my daughter), do we need 2 extra process or it is done all at once after the DTV holder is complete?

It’s also 400,00 dollars more? (For each person or both of us?)
