I submitted my application for the non-o retirement visa on March 20. I received a request for verification of funds on March 28. Since then my status has been changed to processing pending approval. I applied online to the New York Embassy. Does it usually take this long, and can I call to check if everything is ok?

Hi everyone,

I need some clarification regarding my DTV visa application status.

On the portal, my application is showing “Finished” with a green indicator. However, when I open the reference number, it shows “Cancel Visa Application.” I also haven’t received any email regarding this update.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation? Does this mean rejection, or could it be a system/technical issue?

Would really appreciate any insights. Thank you!

Update: Got this email today (26/03/2026) at 02:58 p.m. without any reason being mentioned.

i applied for a dtv visa in ho chi minh on the 23rd at 1:00 pm. on march 2nd, i received a request for additional documents, and i submitted them the same day around 4:30 pm.

since then, i have not received any response. i expected the result within about 10 business days, so i am feeling quite anxious.

currently, we are living in thailand, and my child’s school vacation ends this week. because of this, we are considering giving up the dtv application and entering thailand instead.

if we abandon the dtv application and enter thailand, will there be any disadvantage or negative impact on the application? or would it be better to continue waiting for the result, even if it means my child has to miss some school?

i would really appreciate your advice.

I have applied for DTV 5 weeks ago at the Thai Consulate Frankfurt. It still sits at "Document Check" since day 1. I've tried every possible channel to reach them, including mail/phone/social media as well as other consulates, embassies and foreign ministry to no avail. Some replied but couldn't help. Has anyone an idea how long I will likely have to wait?

Hello everybody I just want to enquire if anyone got same situation during their submission for DTV visa

I am a long term resident in China “ 2 years RP” and before even I start anything I called the Thai embassy in China and inquired about if a can apply for DTV and they said yes I can apply as long as I have a long term visa in China and it will take 3 months time for the process, which I didn’t have any problem for waiting.

On NOV I have applied for Muai Thai DTV program

I got 2 requests for additional documents

The 1st was the next day of submission and the second was 2 weeks later and I submitted it all required docs.

Since then it was in the pending documents check status .

I called few times during the process and emailed them to check, they just say they have received everything and Now that I have to just wait for the process.

I even called during this week and they said still 3 more days till I finish the exact 3 months time so I have to wait more . I thought I might get an answer anytime during this 3 days. Even I asked if the 3 months will count from the day of submission or uploading the required docs they said from submission date.

I knew that I can not travel abroad during the process.

So I waited patiently for the total 3 months Until today 6 Feb , I checked the website status it was mentioned “finished”.

No email of Rejection or Approval … Just the word “Finished” in the website.

I called the embassy they said that maybe the application time in the system is over which is I guess the 3 months time since the date I applied , and Couldn’t discuss anything further.

Then I sent an email but unfortunately no reply. Tried to call few times later in the evening no answer.

I really don’t know what to do now , any advice from anyone who faced same issue like this. Should I wait longer or move on with my life or what exactly I should do?

Please advice

Update: Since our Vietnam visa expires on Jan 28, we are considering visiting the Thai Embassy in Hanoi tomorrow morning to check our status. Has anyone tried this recently? Does it actually help speed things up or do they just tell you to wait?

Hi everyone,

We are currently in Hanoi and looking for some insight from anyone who has applied here recently.

Our Situation:

Primary Applicant: Applied on Jan 11. Status changed to "Pending Approval" on Jan 14. No updates since then (today is the 7th working day).

Dependent (me): Status is "Request Document" with a message saying: "Please resubmit when the principal applicant has been granted the visa."

The Dilemma: Our Vietnam E-visas expire on January 28th. We are getting nervous about the timeline.

Has anyone who applied in Hanoi around Jan 10-12 received an approval yet?

If we don’t get the DTV by Jan 25/26, we plan to do a quick Visa Run to Laos to reset our Vietnam visa. Does anyone know if exiting/re-entering Vietnam while the DTV is "Pending" causes any issues with the Thai Embassy in Hanoi?

For dependents: Once I resubmit my application with my husband’s approved DTV, how long does the Hanoi embassy typically take to approve the dependent visa?

Thanks in advance for any shared experiences!

Hello everyone, I applied for a DTV Visa as a Dependent at the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on December 6th and paid the visa fee on December 9th. Although the standard processing time is usually two weeks, it has now been a full month and I haven't received any updates.

If anyone has experience applying for a Dependent Visa in Cambodia, could you please share your timeline or insights?

I have been waiting for two months total since arriving in Cambodia (including prep time), and I recently crossed over to Vietnam to continue waiting there. My agent suggested that I could return to Thailand while waiting for the result, but I am worried, would it be okay to re-enter Thailand while my visa application is still pending?

If anyone has experience returning to Thailand to wait while a visa is being processed, I would greatly appreciate your advice. Thank you.
