I would do what you suggest because 1 month will give you time to seek out a decent area to live.

There is nothing worse than signing a contract for 12 months then finding out you have a garage starting outside every morning at 7am, or soi dogs congregating outside your window.

Well, there are many worse things but you get the gist? 😁 To avoid that, get a pool facing condo if you're opting for a condo. High floor to avoid street noise and mozzies is also advisable as is not having your room opposite or next to the elevator or public stairwell

John Patino Hi John thanks for sharing. Was the fallout from Brexit a big issue to navigate or was it pretty much as you were? Obviously the media love to blow everything out of proportion so to hear from one who has been there the entire time post brexit would be informative

John Patino Unfortunately the hospitals work in the same way! Thai price, farang price, so its a flip of a coin whether to get insurance (and risk them not paying out) or pay when you get sick

May I ask what prompted you to leave Spain? Im the other way around, had enough of Thailand (for now) and looking at Europe so obvioulsy Spain & Portugal, but also looking at Poland.

If you are going HOME after 90 days, just book a return flight, that means you will be allowed on the outbound journey without any questions. Get a 60 day tourist visa whilst in your home country. After 60 days in Thailand, apply for the 30 day extension at immigration. If they do give you 30 days, thats you sorted. If they only give you 7, take it and book a flight out to a nearby country for the remainder of the time. Obviously book your new trip (If refused the 30 days) with a return to wherever you choose, that gets you back to Suvarnabhumi in time for yoiur main flight back home

If you havent got a history of border hopping, you should be OK for the 30 day extension but either way is an easy solution (unless your budget doesnt allow for the extra trip for the last 23 days)
