I understand gold can be used as proof of funds as it is a liquid asset
But how do you show this in an application for the DTV?
Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
The query discusses the possibility of using gold as proof of funds for applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand. Responses indicate confusion, with some asserting that cash in a bank account is typically required, while others suggest alternatives such as using gold ETFs, like GLD, to satisfy the proof of funds criteria.
Sell the physical gold and buy the equivalent amount of GLD - this is an ETF that holds gold to GLD 1:1. You can open an account with Schwab or Interactive Brokers for this
I applied at Taipei which is infamous for its' focus on income aside from the 500k. I had very limited online employment income at the time of application so added investment accounts to show additional income. i chose Taipei as It was same day approval when I got it and did not want leave anything to chance.
I'd probably meet the requirements and no more Im not comfortable with sharing my personal financial deets with anyone and I despise banks so I guess there's no way of avoiding that.

No idea where you read that. For the DTV you need cash in a bank account.
Yeah I saw it somewhere in a topic that was about stocks n shares which arent immediately available whereas gold is. I know you cannot draw 'gold' from an ATM so its not cash, but they're asking for proof of funds not immediate access to cash so . . . thats the reason I asked
when i applied for my Non O visa through the evisa site there was only 2 options, 1. 800k THB in your bank account or 2. 65k deposits per month for 12 months. Gold was not an option and won't work.
if you read it on an Internet of facebook forum itβs obviously true as there is never false information posted, especially by some ignorant person πππ. Whatever you βunderstandβ in this regard is wrong π
gold doesn't work, as it is not immediately available as cash to pay any bills with. You can't pay a hospital bill with gold. You must have a bank account in your name only, and for most Thai embassies the cash must have been in your account for at least 3-6 months.
actually 2-3 months in account. I. Going thru this at moment, thai gov does not accept Crypto as cash even though you can cash out in one minute. They like cash in one account not two accounts
