TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around using Revolut for transferring funds to a Thai bank account, specifically for retirement visa fund confirmation. Many users have shared their experiences; some confirm that they successfully use Revolut for these transfers, marked as 'international transactions' or 'Trade Finance.' Others mention alternative services like Wise and Remitly, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of each. A few express concerns regarding the reliability of Revolut due to account closures and service issues, while others report satisfaction with transfer speeds and usability.

Recently is way better. And cheaper and it's instantly. Too many people post daily with issues with wise. Taking hours to days and transaction 29 dollars so that means no small transfer. Rerimtly is 1.99. And many people had their transfer stop do to 3 party middle man. That shit doesn't happen with remitly.

I transfer every month with revolut into Kasikorn. It shows as "Trade Finance" on the statement. And that is an international transfer code.

Mike Blueeyes me too. Even though I just choose the "support family" option when transferring. All transfers are marked as "Trade Finance" which means international.

Kurt J Oldervik About 3 months ago, WISE contacted me and told me because of inaction, my account would be closed. If I wanted it to remain open, I was required to send a new photo in.

I tried this about 6 times and the photo wasnt accepted so I basically told them to ram it

Not sure about other people but technology was supposed to make life easier yet examples like this prove otherwise! Even simple forms have become a nightmare to navigate

i dont have a problem showing information. But when they not ask and just close it and you later find out that they think its fraud/moneylaundering or terror funding related its very surprising. Because ive used my account very normal really and i can prove everything.

Kurt J Oldervik they are currently in a lot of shit in Ireland for doing this too. Claiming to request documents from people and then closing the account due to not receiving the documents but it turns out they weren't actually requesting the documents. They fucked over a politician and a massive investigation was launched with them required to go and face a parliamentary hearing for major breaches in EU law & Irish law.

Everything you buy with Revolut debit card, like online shop etc generate points. I got around 7000 point i transfer to Qatar miles. And all transactions have insurance as well. I recently upgraded my Revolut to metal subscription for more points and more benefits. Like travel insurance on trips paid with Revolut card. Oh, and I can easily buy/sell currency like thb when good exchange. Will show as a thb account inside app. It's a really good bank app.

Revpoints -> Flypoeng (under produkter) -> Velg Qatar Airways. Så legger du inn ditt privileged club medlemsnummer. Etterpå er det bare å klikke på denne og velge hvor mange poeng du vil overføre

I transferred to wise from UK bank. Then Thai baht to Thai bank. My statements say global transfer. My branch says cannot say that in the bank letter. Luckily I still had my 800k for back up!

Alan Moore the option is there and appears on my statement. But at the branch - it’s an internal number no reference to where it came from.

Perhaps you’re meaning Wise rather than Revolut? It’s an option for them if you use Bangkok Bank (or at least used to be perhaps still is).

Never heard of people using Revolut to do transfers but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.

You can use Revolut to transfer but it's generally slower than Wise in my experience. That said, I have started to tire of Wise not keeping their promises.

Why would people type “tourist visa” when they meant “visa exempt”. He typed “funds for long time stay” which is a Wise thing.

I only use Revolut to send money to my Thai bank (way better then wise, used in past), but only now looking into getting yearly retirement visa. So now need bank statement. New phone, so lost access to BB, so can't check. Only using green bank from now.

If Revolut use the same sort of method as Wise then they probably use a third party bank and may transfer to your own bank as a domestic transaction.

You would have to contact that third party bank to get confirmation that it was indeed an international transaction (FET).

remitly is way better. Never s hold up like wise sorry ass and blaming third party. Plenty of people post all the time with issues with wise but yet to a post negative about remitly

That's guesswork. Revolut transfer goes straight into Bangkok Bank, no 3rd party bank.

I have no idea. That’s why I used the word “if”. You’d have to check your bank statement to see if it shows as “FET” otherwise trying to use that statement for a yearly extension you’d be screwed.
