O-A is not a retirement visa, it is just a long stay visa for a certain period with requirements you need to fulfill in your home country.

at the moment, you can still extend by 60days covid extension, before 26th November. Not sure if this is helpful for you as you did not mention until when you admitted.

when he return to country and apply for a new work permit the system will be checked against the database from Labour and he will be paying his overstay, but since you proudly announced I do believe that Immigration is also aware of this loophole and it is just a matter of time that this loophole will be closed and people will be made to pay overstay at airport.

From the info on FB it looks that your partner is from Myanmar. It is not clear to me if you stay on work permit or multiple entry Non B. If extension on work permit and you lost your job before 31st October you are, legally, on overstay.
