Hi I was supposed to go back to my country on Jan 31 so I cancelled my ED visa already and the immigration officer stamped this on my passport. However, I might need to rebook my flight on Feb 4. Will I pay overstay fine if I postpone? Or because ASEAN nationals can stay visa-free for 30 days I can still stay? Thanks for any clarification

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user cancelled their ED visa and is wondering if they will incur an overstay fine if they stay in Thailand until February 4. The comments clarify that as an ASEAN national, they can normally stay for 30 days visa-free, but since they previously held a visa and then had it cancelled, they face different regulations. They should seek either to obtain a visa extension or might be granted a specific seven-day extension of stay but must act before facing fines. It's advisable for them to check with immigration for the best path forward to avoid an overstay.
There is no 7 day visa extension 😮 There is a 7 day extension of stay denied stamp though. Once a person receives that stamp, they have 7 days to leave Thailand.
no it is not. A visa extension and an extension of stay denied stamp grant different rights to a foreigner and allows different things to happen at the immigration office.
Plus, the stamp also says “extension of stay denied”.
For me, I cancelled my ED visa at Samut Prakarn and they suggested me to go to Cheang Wattana (as I am currently living in Bangkok address) with full documents including TM30 and letter from embassy. At CW, I got under consideration stamp up to 25th Feb saying it's not covid extension.😅
You go to get an extension (or extension denied stamp for 7 days) or pay an overstay fine after Jan 31. 30days free stay is only from entering Thailand, not after you had any type of stay.
