 because quite rightly they do not want to use an agent to help get a bank account. And doing it yourself is real hit n miss and a hard foot slog

 You suggested they can stay 4 months in Thailand but did not point out that after 3 months they need to cross a border and come back in for the 4th month or longer. That is very important.

 no that is not correct either. It is up to the IO u meet on arrival. No limit on only 2 but 3 or 4 could be a problem

 what 6 month tourist visa? You do not need any kind of visa with your plan. Stop getting all worked up about Visas.
