UPDATE. Petchabun Immigration. Non O visa (over 50) application yesterday. Irish passport. With my Thai partner.

First we had to update my TM 30 in person as I have just got back here. Entered on visa exempt and got 60 days.

Then we were told to go to the bank and get a letter and statements showing 800000 for the last 2 months. Luckily I have a bank acc and had put the money in the account before my arrival here. The IO wrote down what we needed in Thai to help us before we went to the bank.

Back to the IO and they did all the paperwork. Pages and pages of my bank book transactions and all kinds of other stuff. I just had to sign my name about 50 times on both sets. 2 recent photos. My partner had to hand draw a map of where the house is as they said they would come and visit in the next 2 weeks and provide all kinds of docs about herself.

Now it is 'under consideration' for 3 weeks and we have to go back on 28th to get the Visa confirmed and stamped in my passport.

2 points to note:

First that I needed the money in my bank 2 months before I even applied for the Visa, not the extension.

Second that they will come and visit for a retirement Visa not a marriage visa.

Not many people use Petchabun IO but thought the update might help some of you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster shared an update about their experience applying for a Non-O visa (over 50) in Petchabun, Thailand. They needed to update their TM30, provide bank statements showing 800,000 THB for two months, and submit a large amount of paperwork. A map of their residence was drawn by their partner for the required home visit by immigration officers. The application is currently under consideration, with a follow-up date set for confirmation. Key points noted include the requirement of seasoned funds and the home visit procedure for retirement visas.

Good to know!

It's not far too duck up to petchabun rather than the crowds further south.

Why you include your partner in a retirement visa? You can make it as an independent person with the funds and the TM30.

it is independent, but we live together she has to provide half the required paperwork.

I don't understand that - I live with my wife and she doesn't get involved at all

she had to provide her ID, and documents showing her ownership of the house where we live and hand draw a map of how to get here.

when I applied for a retirement visa a few years back they made me include my Thai partner in all the details, I wasn't given a choice.

"So Phetchabun office is another one that requires 2 months of seasoned funds for an in-country initial Non-O visa based on retirement.", so that makes them and Jomtien so far?

so both want to see 2 months, and seemingly they don't want to see any proof that the money came from abroad (which actually is a requirement on the police order regarding the "change of visa type" from exempt or tourist to Non-Imm-O retirement)

they never asked about where the money came from but did copy all the recent pages of my bank book showing the international transfer codes

Thank you for the report. So Phetchabun office is another one that requires 2 months of seasoned funds for an in-country initial Non-O visa based on retirement.

Yes, some reports say that property visits or interviews were required for the initial visa based on retirement at some offices.

Your accommodation could be under your partner's name. As landlord's documents are required as well at some offices.

I was just speculating how most people could do it but every IO is different. Lots of possible ways to get thru it.

I dunno how you do this if u arrive visa exempt 60 + 30 and start looking to open a bank account to season the funds. It's gonna be very tight to get it done in time.

You can also apply for a 60 day visiting family extension, if married or children. If only partner....so luck. Would have to leave and come back again if the time runs out.

are you married to your Thai partner? Then as soon as the 60+30 days are expiring, you can apply for the 60-days "family visit" extension on Immigration, to buy more time
