Hello all , I know it’s a regular question but the rules change so regularly, I’m planning next year to visit Thailand again for 3 months, I have in the past used my passport for the first 30 days applied also for the extra 30 days via an e- visa ( done online ) & then when in Thailand gone to the dreaded local immigration offices for the remaining days to cover my return flight to the uk . My questions are , have the laws changed & have I been doing the easiest ways of staying in Thailand for 90 days ? . Thank you for any replies .

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking clarification on the current rules for staying in Thailand for 90 days, given their past experience of using a 30-day entry via passport, applying for an e-visa for an additional 30 days, and then extending at immigration. The responses suggest that regulations may allow for a 60-day entry upon arrival, with the possibility of extending for another 30 days without requiring a visa, though this can depend on the passport being held. Users also recommend checking local resources and updates closer to the planned trip.

, I’ve been on 2 occasions, got there 6 am & already had to queue, spent over 6 hours there £ I recall 1 was a Monday. . I will heed your advice in future , thank you Tim
When you say extend I’ve only gone to immigration ( 5 hours missing from your life ) would you recommend to do a border run & if so how many days should you allow before the 60 days are up ? Thank you Nigel for your time
Busiest days in Immigration Offices are Monday and Friday, so avoid them. And if you get there early (check opening times for the one nearest where you'll be staying) you can easily be out in a couple of hours. Take 1,900 cash, your passport and a photo
