Anonymous participant 905 BKK got a big kicking from the government for the number of accounts they opened fraudulently, usually via agents, which they showed up in scam, fraud, mule and human trafficking cases. BKK employees lost their jobs and face fraud charges. They were not the only bank, of course, but they seemed to have issued more fraudulent accounts than the others, hence their customers finding closures or restrictions. These restrictions have been applied to farangs living in Thailand on resident visas, like the Non-Imm O and OA. The banks say this is due to suspicious transactions patterns, where to government requires the bank to freeze, investigate and recover illegal money to compensate victims.
There's a clue in the name, it's a TOURIST visa. Although Canadians get 60 days entry stamp without visa, and can extend by 30 days more. You can then exit and re-enter (border bounce) but it adds to the possibility of being refused entry because she is not acting like a tourist. Tourists come for visits then go home
