What type of accommodation should I list for my DTV visa application if I'm staying in an Airbnb?

I have a question about applying for the DTV visa I’m hoping someone may be able to answer. When we arrive we are staying in an Airbnb for a month until we find a place to rent. On the application they as “ accommodation type” would this be “guest house “ or “ private property?

It's illegal because most of the AirB&b's are in big condo towers where people live permanently and they do not want hundreds of short term strangers going in and out every day. I think stays of more than 30 days are OK but it's a very 'grey' situation.

It's meant to be the rule so if you have a booking for 30 days or more you should be OK. I stayed in a cheapish airbnb condo a few years back for 21 days and the security guard told the condo admin which hauled the owner in for questioning. The owner stuck to the story that I was a friend but I didn't feel comfortable staying after that, particularly as every building in the complex had notices in the lift lobby about short term stays being prohibited.

we booked a one bed place in a condo in Jomtien last March on Booking.com not Air B&B and it was a holiday from hell. There were so many rooms booked for the weekend that there was a huge queue for the lifts most of the afternoon. We met a frustrated resident who said it was all AirB&B bookings with mostly Chinese people at weekends. Never again. It was the holiday from hell. And notices up everywhere saying AirB&B is illegal in this building.

Yes, I have stuck to hotels since for long and short term stays. There are apartment buildings where you can legally stay and cut yourself a decent deal with the owner for longer term staus. I particularly like On Nut's KV Mansion in that regard. It's no fun staying somewhere that makes you feel like a pariah throughout your stay.

yep agree. We stayed in Casa Asara last trip and it was OK but the kitchen wasn't great for cooking. While I am here I want to have friends come and stay and cook eat n drink in the room. Hotels are no good for that.

I checked with our local orb I tor last year through a Thai friend, and long term stays are not an issue, couldn’t get a commitment on the 30 days “rule”
