Looks like I might have a few hours to wait for my flight from Udon Thani airport. Anybody know that airport? Is there a coffee shop or restaurant or even good seating where I can sit 3 or 4 hours? Thanks a million.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around options for spending a few hours while waiting at Udon Thani Airport. Several commenters suggest that while there is a Cafe Amazon at the airport, it may be better to take a taxi into the city center for a more enjoyable experience. Suggestions for places to visit include central plaza and a recommended spot called 305 for good food, drinks, and a pleasant atmosphere.

UD airport is right in the city centre, I wouldn't go to the airport until about two hours before your departure, just kill the time in central plaza, or if you fancy it, go to (farang street) as the locals call it, lots of expat bars and restaurants. What transport did you end up using to travel from Nong khai to Udon thani??
Andy **********
I've only used tuk tuks from various locations in nong khai, to get me to the train station, I've used the grab taxi application a lot in udon thani, i would imagine it's also used in nong khai.

I think I will just take a taxi. I am too big n tall to fit into a bus or van seat comfortably although for an hour's ride might be okay

3 to 4 hours at Udon Airport? I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Yeah there's a Cafe Amazon there, but I'd be going into town and killing the time there

@Steve *******
haha I totally agree, other than a couple of over priced drink/food stands there's nothing there.

Good thing about Udon, the airport is right there almost in town so it's not far to go in and have a wander around. There's an expat pub there Chris's Place for farang food and a pint of Guinness to kill an hour or so.
