Yes easy just lots of paperwork. You also didn’t need to keep it in for 2 months. You first get the 90 day non-0 and can deposit the 400,000 the day before going to immigration. I did it this year.
Edit: After you get the 90 days Non-O extension you apply for the one year extension and money needs to be in account for 2 months.
She needs strong ties to Thailand. Does she have a good job? Children in Thailand? House? Land? Car? Lots of money in the bank? Not sure about Canada but USA is crazy. My wife was denied a tourist visa to visit the USA and we were married over a year living together when we originally applied. I refuse to apply for a green card as we don’t want to live in the USA. So maybe Canada is nicer.
I am normally against agents however in this case I am glad we did. We just hired an agent two years ago and went to Chiang Rai. Simple process. One hour we were done.
Immigration office will give the correct answer. 1. Immigration needs to transfer the Non-O stamp to the new passport. 2. They may ask him to leave Thailand and come back on the correct stamp. Or 3. They can correct it all at the office.
I wouldn’t stress too much. Just speak with them and hopefully can fix it without leaving the country. Let us know what they say. Best of luck!
I am married to my wife for two years and she was denied a tourist visa to visit the USA. Perhaps logic in the money in her account. She only had I believe 80,000 baht. 🤷♂️
that’s a perfect reason. If you do decide to explore more I would check out Krabi province as well. Only 90 minute drive from Phuket or a quick boat ride. I found it a lot more cheaper, quieter and more nature. I ended up in Chiang Mai for the last two years now in the north.
Facebook “Phuket Visarun” is one service you can use. Take a van and drive down with a group of people. Should be a day trip. Leave early in the morning and back in Phuket by dinner time.
Can I ask why did you decide on Phuket? I only spent a week there and decided it was not for me. It’s more expensive compared to other parts of Thailand. A lot more tourist crowded. I am curious.
USA citizen? You can show up and get a 30 day stamp. You can extend for another 30 days. So zero planning can easily get 60 days. Or apply for an evisa before you arrive and get 60 days on arrrival and 30 day extension.
You might need 21 days left on your stamp to apply for an education visa. The school will help you.
Nothing really is difficult.
Very popular here to do a border bounce for more time. You are allowed to leave the country from land borders and come back 5 minutes later for an additional 30 days. Repeat going to immigration for the 30 day extension. You can do this twice in a calendar year. Resets January 1st each year.
Can you bring pills in for me as well? They all blood pressure pills 😜. I smashed them up and they are in blocks of kilos. Do you have room for 10 kilos?
All jokes aside don’t bring in medication for someone else. Terrible idea and don’t want to see a movie about you in a Thai prison.
