I have never heard of extending. Maybe a different type of multi entry visa? Mine is based on marriage and got outside of Thailand and immigration made it clear I had to leave every 90 days. So now my curiosity has me wondering if the retirement multi entries are different?

ahhh, okay I am on a NON-O multi entry stamp based on marriage so it’s impossible for me to get an extension inside the country. I must leave Thailand every 90 days. The OP didn’t go into any details. However I am curious what kind of visa do you have? Did you get it inside Thailand?

Lots of wrong information. There is no 90 day reporting because you have to leave the Country every 90 days. If you time it correctly you can get 15 months out of the stamp if you leave and return on your last day.

Once the 15 months is up if you are married to a Thai or have a Thai child you can also add the family extension of 60 days.

Great to know. I am going to immigration today to transfer my stamp to my new passport. I only experienced over pricing in Laos with immigration.

okay educate me, how does one loss the property in divorce if they signed a usufuct with the property? 4.5 million is the farang price. Thai people have a different price I know this as I spoke to a Japanese owners of a condo building and they deeply discount to thais to get the quota. and buying a condo sounds depressing. So are you educating me that it’s a better investment to give money to a stranger?

Your wife can get a 30 year loan and purchase a house and pay 11k a month. That way you are not throwing the money away to a stranger. Still get a usufuct. If you get bored of the house rent it out as an investment.

Renting 0% chance of making a profit. I am cool if you want to rent but it’s still throwing away your money with a 0% chance of return.

statistics are important. The point is majority of expats are in happy relationships. 13k members in the expat building in Thailand. Sign a usufruct and buy with your spouse. One guy admitted he spent over a million in rent in 5 years in thailand yet the houses in his neighborhood were selling for 1.5 million. He literally gave over a million baht to a stranger in rent instead of investing with the woman he apparently loves. Yet he thinks he is so smart giving money to a stranger. wild thinking. I tell you what if anyone doesn’t want invest with their spouse they can rent from me I will gladly take your money. I can use a boat 😎. I am 38 and retired in Thailand.

just curious in your mind what percent of expats who purchase property with their spouse loss everything? Educate us. Do you have a source? How long have you lived in Thailand? How much money do you spend yearly on rent?

the stupid bar stories make the headlines. Negative people don’t want to read about the those who have a house and lived here 30 years happily. The expat building in Thailand group has 13k members.

Join the expat building in Thailand. Lots of positive people.

I would reword what you are asking? To renew a USA passport in Thailand the website says 5-6 weeks. Recently a woman got her passport back in 17 days and another man took 8 weeks. So plan well.
