I am at hospital. Just told I have COVID. My COVID extension ends July 21. What do I need to ask hospital? They said quarantine 10 days.

TLDR : Answer Summary
While in the hospital with COVID, you should ask for a medical certificate stating you are unable to travel due to quarantine. This certificate is crucial for applying for a new extension of stay at immigration. You might need your wife to pick up this certificate and take it to immigration. Ensure you have your passport and possibly a friend to assist with the immigration process if the hospital provides that service. The extension can be for 30, 60, or 90 days, depending on the doctor's recommendation, and will incur a fee of 1,900 Thai baht.

Thank you for the information. So far she said they want me to quarantine for 10 days and want the wife to return in the morning to get the medical certificate from the doctor. I assume that is what needs to be taken to immigration. I think they want my wife to get a hotel room and avoid me. Not sure.

See the doctor / hospital for COVID medical care....

Present your passport and ask for a medical certificate to Thai immigration for a medical extension of stay.

...The doctor will request either a 30, 60 or 90 day extension for you....as you are under medical care for COVID.

...Have the international department of the hospital assist you.

...The medical certificate requesting the extension of stay needs to be taken to Thai Immigration and submitted with your application for extension of stay....

...the hospital and or friend can go to Thai Immigration for you.

...along with your passport

.. and one photo.

...Fee is 1,900 Thai baht.

...Without a doctor/hospital signed medical certificate requesting the extension of stay...

...You will not get an extension....

...And if your current permission to stay expires, you are on OVERSTAY. With 500 Thai baht daily fine up to 20,000 Thai baht.

Ask the hospital to go in your name with your passport, 1,900 Thb and a hospital letter that you are unable to travel due to quarantine to Immigration and apply for a new Extension of Stay.

Or if the hospital does not give that service, ask a friend.
