 i live here as well, but I never had the chance to be close friend to any officer although I speak Thai. It probably depends where you live in Thailand and/or have a Thai spouse

Besides the non-Immi O you have to show a longterm rental contract of house or condo nowadays or have a Thai wife to get a bank account.
