I've spoken directly with the thai embassy,,, if you apply for marriage or family visa from the uk... it is a 60 day visa, and then apply for a 1 year when in Thailand... a 90 day is non existent now
You can only get a 60 day married Visa at the moment from the uk and can be extended when in thailand, they are not giving any other options but you will still have to jump through hoops, book an ASQ, get at covid test 72hrs before flying, covid insurance for $100,000 and and and ..... basically, they dont want us.... but I believe if you are chinese or indian, you can now get a Visa on entry??? Figure that 1 out!
If you have a non immigrant visa and plan to stay for a while,,, just go and get a thai driving license,,, its reasonably easy to get, has the benefits of discounts at certain places in Thailand as you will pay thai price and not falang price if you produce it and it's less hassle if you get a pull by the police..... just make sure you apply for both bike and car at the same time... it makes life so much easier
Looks like que for a visa extension and get a free dose of corona virus,,, then we will be blamed for spreading the virus and called those dirty falangs again
Listen to Kool breez, he is 100% correct on that and that is the 1 good thing about thailand.. you can get that sorted quite easily if you act quickly! The longer you leave it, the harder it will be
Nothing works smoothly or simply in thailand so use a reputable Visa service and let them alleviate your headaches... they always seem to have a work around! I know it's more expensive but in the long run,its worth it!
Always remember,,,, in Thailand it's all about who gives the biggest back hander
