# ATTENTION MEMBERS ON COVID EXTENSIONS:

*90 Day Reporting*

This is how it seems they're interpreting the 90 day reporting rule.

IF you are on an extension for the SAME reason for 90 days you are obligated to do a 90 day report. This is why NO ONE was told to file a 90 day report earlier. If you came in before the lock down, took amnesty, then embassy letter extensions and then FINALLY started on the covid extensions you were on all different extensions until you went for the SECOND covid extension (when you would have been here 90 days on an extension for the same reason)

What this means is; most people who entered on a tourist visa or a visa exempt entry wouldn't do a 90 day report until you got the SECOND 60 day covid extension and your 90 day report would be due 30 days into that (60 from the first extension and 30 from the second one equals 90).

Now that is how the rule SHOULD work but we're seeing immigration offices use the "you didn't report before" reason to just fine people as they see fit. Keep in mind the fine for you showing up at the immigration office without having done a 90 day report before cannot be more than 2000baht <- period end of story. There is not a "not more than 5000baht" fine like we're seeing being asked for at some rogue offices.

AND

IF you get fined for failure to file a 90 day report you will ALWAYS get a "failure to file on time" stamp in your passport that shows the 2000baht as the fine paid along with a stamp on your new 90 day report receipt stating you were fined the 2000baht on xx date as well as getting a receipt for the fine you paid <- there are NO exceptions to that.

So if you get fined but don't get that stamp in your passport or on your new 90 day report receipt and don't get a receipt for the fine paid you just were extorted :O

My advice to EVERYONE on covid extensions (especially ones who've been here since the lock down at the end of March 2020) ASK your immigration office when you're applying for your covid extension about whether you need to do a 90 day report or not. AND be a pest about it, don't take the first answer from some low level passport stamping paper-pushing officer as the real answer.

My ED visa will expire in mid-Sept. and I'm exploring options. Have you heard of any instances of one switching from ED to tourist exemption without leaving the country (and then later going on amnesty)? Thanks!

Morning all. 90 day reporting question.

I have a 1 year multi-entry non-O based on marriage, valid until Nov 4th. Last arrival March 2nd and then I went onto amnesty. On Aug 10th I got the 60 day visit family stamp (added after Sept 26th), meaning I'm stamped in until Nov 25th.

Per the note the IO put in my passport a 90 day report is due Nov 6th.

I have tried unsuccessfully the last 2 days to do the 90 day report online - I've always used it with no problem in the past, and my reporting address hasn't changed.

Am I actually required to do a 90 day report, given my circumstances?

I can't work out why else I can't submit my data on the system - I just immediately get the "visit your immigration office" pop up.

Apologies for the long message, and TIA for your input!

Advice please I have amnesty until until 31st October having paid to extend in September before amnesty was announced- went to Samui immigration to extend until end of November but they said I need to hand over my passport to them for this and it could take up to a week before it would come back - is this correct - I’ve never had to do this previously.

At MTT now. Got a stamp corrections from oct 26th (got extensions via embassy letter prior to latest amnesty). Required 1 copy of the data page of my passport and had an appointment. That's it. Crossed out 26th and replaced with Nov 30th. Took about 90 min maybe 2 hours of waiting.

Sorry for the long post but hope it at least helps someone.

I have lived in Thailand 7 years mainly on Thailand Elite and was originally due to change over to a retirement visa in July that can't be issued inside the country unless on a tourist visa so a border bounce was due.

Unfortunately I ended up in Amnesty but I eventually got a letter from the British Embassy that allowed me to be stamped in until 26th October. I did this on 3rd September and got the stamp on the 17th.

When the new current amnesty was announced they stated that those who got the stamp like myself could be stamped in for free until 30th November. Unfortunately I went three days ago to be told by local immigration that it wasn't possible as I applied too early but could apply for 60 days before the current amnesty ended on the 31st October without the need for a further embassy letter.

I was so frustrated but as they have known me many years I remained courteous and polite throughout and left leaving my phone number in case anything changed.

The next day they phoned me at home to say they have reviewed my request at a special meeting and if I came in the next day they would change my stamp to November 30th and allow me to apply for another 60 days taking me until the end of January.

I guess the moral of the story no matter how frustrating it can be dealing any kind of government department in any country my polite and calm demeanor paid off.

Ironically that same day there was a foreigner in there being angry and rude and they eventually asked him to leave.

Just got back from Nakhon Sawan immigration and 30th November stamp refused.

I had been on Amnesty since July previously had Thailand Elite visa. Eventually got my Embassy Letter requesting a Non O for retirement as a long stay resident of Thailand.

A processing stamp was put in my passport on 3rd September until 17th September.

Told to come back on 17th to get stamped in until 26th October which I did. New Amnesty announced that this stamp would get me until 30th November just need to go in and update at no charge.

Told today that is only if your on a processing stamp and need to go back before the current amnesty ends to get another 60 days until 30th December and no embassy letter will be required on this occasion.
